With a lot of top fighters approaching their twilight years. I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone thinks the p4p top 10 will look like in 3/4 years.
2012 huh.. i'd say gamboa, linares, chad dawson, cotto, pac(perhaps), pavlik can't really tell about the others, the prospects of today still needs to prove
I'd have... Cotto, Gamboa, Linares, Dawson, Guererro, and Kahn Haye wont be about then and i don't think Pavlik is all that great to be consistent until then.
Cotto, Gamboa, Pavlik, in no perticular order they'll be top 3. I like Dawson but I see him getting beat in the near future. And I've only seen 1 Khan fight and it was 1 round, so I can't make a prediction on that one.
Good post. In no particular order, Gamboa, Khan, Chad Dawson, Pavlik (he'll be a DLH-type box office hit fighting the big names kinda star I'd predict), Cotto (maybe at the top?), Juan Diaz (still very young now), Haye (heavyweights peak late), Povetkin (maybe), Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (maybe, dont know enough bout him yet to be fair), Linares, Pacquaio (near the end of his career), Frankie Gavin (big wildcard tip), Bernard Hopkins (joke!)
Here's some names that come to mind. Some are already established champions/former champions, while other's are more promising and have yet to realize their full potential. I'm not saying all of them will be on a P4P list, but all of them have a chance (based on their abilities/level of competition available). Miguel Cotto Yuriorkis Gamboa Chad Dawson Mikkel Kessler Alexander Povetkin David Haye Cristian Mijares Kelly Pavlik Arthur Abraham Jorge Linares Peter Quillin Victor Ortiz Nonito Donaire Lucian Bute
Not saying these will be accurate Likely lads Gamboa Dawson Cotto 50/50's Khan Berto Haye Peterson Pavlik (might fade after being in too many wars) Outsiders Andre Ward Joe Greene Bute
These types of threads are fun to look back at. It's obviously very difficult to predict what the P4P landscape would look like in 4 years so I'm not going to ridicule anyone for their predictions but some of them are assuming to see after what has happened during this time. Props to the guy who through Ward's name into the mix. Not so much for mentioning Joe Greene
