Sorry mate I was thinking Floyd at 130 where he was infact a wrecking ball.....my mistake, I've had a few drinks hope you understand:) yes at 135 Sweet Pea wins
Can you dispute Floyd as being the greatest superfeather?

Arguello accomplished far more, though Floyd would likely beat him head to head.

There wasn't much difference between Floyd at 130 and Floyd at 135 aside from level of competition. It's not like he was a completely different fighter 5 pounds up. Get a clue.

At 130 I completely agree with you. Floyd was amazing at that weight, I'd favor him over every 130 pounder in history.

But Pea IMO is the 2nd greatest lightweight of all time behind Duran.

Stylewise, Camacho would be the toughest fight for Floyd at 130.

Floyd would have boxed circles around Arguello, and Nelson.

Definitely not Nelson. That would've been a difficult fight for Floyd. Not only was he a relentless pressure fighter when he wanted to be, but he was also very underrated technically as well as being a big puncher. That's not the type that Floyd would've outboxed easily.

Arguello on the other hand is.

No one in there right mind would argue that Whitaker was more active than Mayweather at 130.
I think unless you have knockout power being the agressor aginst Whitaker is not going to be an advantage in a match-up with him.

Sweet Pea by clear UD, something like 8-4. His southpaw stance, jab and workrate would really give Floyd problems who I can't see him outboxing him. The jab imparticular would be the dominant weapon for Whitaker as Floyd has often been troubled by fighters with good jabs. Defensively there both amongst the best of all time, although I'd give Whitaker the slight edge due to competition fought and how he avoid punches altogether (instead of blocking them like Mayweather). Offensively I also give Whitaker the edge, he had less power but his workrate, precision and body punching where all amogst the best of his time. I feel many people don't give Pea enough credit for his offensive arsenal at 135.

Floyd always takes 3 rounds or so to adapt to his opponent, and giving away the early rounds to an ATG like Sweet Pea is not a good move. Even once he has adapted I can't see him getting the edge due to the points I've already brought up. We've seen what a quick southpaw can do to Floyd in the Judah fight, even if it was at 147. If he tries to fight off the fronfoot against whitaker he'd get picked apart, much like everyone who took that approach at 135. Up-close Whitaker is the better in-fighter, so should the fight go there for one reason or another Floyd would likely be outfought (although it's unlikely it would). Basically I feel Whitaker is superior in every department except power, and I can't see that playing a major role in the fight.

Whitaker UD 116-112, he takes the early rounds and the remaining 2/3rds of the fight are competitive but he still maintains the edge. :good

It is quite apparent, more so than ever, that people don't have a ****ing clue how to pick a fight

Yep, nobody would argue PBF was more active at 130 than Sweet Pea - Whitaker never fought at that weight

****ing hell - its true what I was told about this place.

this general forum just goes around in circles.

    recycling the same old crap.

Mayweather V Whitaker - who wins - I'm sure I seen that on here umpteen times since I joined under 4 months ago.

it just goes around in circles in this place - insanity

how many days before a identical thread gets started by someone else

I say Whitaker UD. They are both great fighters, but IMO Whitaker was simply a level above. Mayweather has more power at 135, but Whitaker would outbox him. I think it would be a brilliant fight though, two truly high-class operators battling it out, the level of quality in the fight would be exceptional. I'd take Whitaker about 8-4.

I think Arguello is the only superfeather in history who beats Floyd, though I'd be more confident of him winning over 15 rounds than 12. Over 12, Floyd could conceivably take a decision. Over 15 Arguello breaks him down late on.
