do they publish that on their magazine? but based from my post it's tyson in 88 when the p4p ratings was shifted from KO to Ring
i have one of they´re mags where they mentioned all the pound for pounds number ones since they started posting the list in the ring mag and the first one was Tyson. the explanation they gave for him to be number one was "forget pound for pound at that time Tyson was the undisputed king of boxing". then after he lost to Douglas,JCC became the number one.
This is all true. And in all fairness, Tyson was probably P4P no.1 at that time. In any other weight constantly destroying other champions and all contenders with that much skill, speed, power, chin, and at such a young age would get you P4P no.1. No reason why it shouldn't be Tyson, especially with a win over Spinks, who was 32-0(22) ex-LHW champ and had beat THE man at HW (twice, debatable, but what's Pac-Marquez) Inactive was Spinks, and scared, but Tyson was no.1 Two weeks after Tyson-Douglas was Taylor-Chavez :good
i remember he was rated first by the Ring in two diferent times,i dont remember exactly what years it was but one of them was after Roy Jones got DQD against Griffin . Edit:just checked the mag and DLH wasnt pfp one twice he was once after Jones got DQD against Griffin .he was number one from 97 till 2000.
There wasn't a P4P LIST in Robinson's day, but he was where the actual phrase came from because of his dominance. It was mentioned that he is the best P4P fighter today.(back then)
