Who do you expect to be in the p4p top 10, 5 years from now. my estimate is 1 - Andre Ward 2 - Canelo Alvarez 3 - David Price 4 - Nonito Donaire 5 - Tim Bradley 6 - Amir Khan 7 - Brandon Rios 8 - Adrien Broner 9 - Ramon Gonzalez 10- George Groves Others around the top 10 will be glazkov, cleverly, oosthuizen, sanchez, alexander, vargas, ortiz, brook, thurman, danny garcia, peterson, vasquez, magdaleno, salido, dib, mikey garcia, selby, mares, rigondeaux, frampton, santa cruz, hernan marquez, ioka. just a bit of fun. what are your guesses?
Ward Donaire Bradley Roman Broner Alvarez Mares Moreno Garcia All of these have great opportunities to do it, promotionally, skill-wise, etc. Odds are it will be about 2-3 of these guys and a bunch of guys we wouldn't expect.
1. Yuriorkis Gamboa 2. Andre Ward 3. Adrien Broner 4. Saul Canelo Alvarez 5. Gary Russell Jr 6. Anselmo Moreno 7. Timothy Bradley 8. Nonito Donaire 9. Jesse Magdaleno 10. Danny Garcia other possibilities: Mikey Garcia, Nonito Donaire, Abner Mares, Erislandy Lara, Leo Santa Cruz,, Thomas Dulorme, Jose Benavidez, Tremaine Williams
Good list. As in Roman do you mean Gonzalzez? Good comments too- a couple will be "exposed" so to speak obviously. But less than a year ago people said Khan or Segura could become p4p king, and noone would have said Martinez before the 1st Williams fight.
Def Roman Gonzalez. At times I feel he is a tad overrated by some, but what a hell of a resume he's got at such a young age. I expected Segura to stay on the P4P list longer than he did (not 5 years though), that's for sure. I'm guilty there. 5 years from now, a great deal will have changed. As for people listing Gamboa and Rigondeaux- look at their ages. Then add 5 years. I highly doubt they will make it.
Donaire will beat Rigondeaux comfortably before then anyway if Rigondeaux ever steps up. Golovkin is a good shout. Gary Russell Jr too. Ioka maybe (but will probably still be unknown to most), people who find it funny about Price being picked, it's not out of the question as I can see him being the dominate heavyweight post Klitschko. I also think if Sillkah can cut out the mistajes of his last fight he will have a shout.
I'm a big Ioka fan. I was disappointed that the Yaegashi unification was such a close/controversial fight. As for Price, come on dude? Not only is he an unproven prospect, but look at how long the Klitschko brothers have been dominant. All of that, and Wladimir is never listed higher than 6 or 7 and Vitali never higher than 8 or 9, and not on most peoples' list (rightfully so for both, unfortunately for them). Lennox was never rated by the RING higher than P4P #5. To think Price even has a chance worthy of mentioning is highly, highly iffy.
I don't think he will be p4p number 1, and shouldn't be. But top 10 isn't out of the question and if hes the one that knocks off a Klitschko (even if its really old father time thats the real conquer) he will certainly be considered by many.
