P4P Top 10??

Sergio Martinez does in no way deserve to be no 2, and I am a fan.

I find Martinez to be overrated by many, and I don't believe that Segura warrants ranking by beating a past it Iron Boy that's he's about two weight classes bigger than.

 

For everyone who rated him, why Gamboa?

Both guys had been at the weight for years so you can't knock Segura for making it. If he lost, would we be crying that he was dead at the weight?

Calderon had clearly been having difficulty at the weight for quite a time due to the physicality of his opponents, he was never a light-fly, and merely stepped up in order to secure bigger fights and enhance his legacy. He'd clearly been slipping since the Cazares double. Jesus Iribe even gave him trouble for christ sake.

Would insert Floyd at #2 if and when he beats Ortiz. If nothing has advanced between Khan/Bradley by such a time i'd push Bradley out and keep Wongjonkam at #10

 

I think Calderons legacy was enhanced by the move up and he was still a decent favourite for the 1st fight. I sneaked Segura in at 10 simply because Calderons scalp is still better than what the other fringe guys have.

Straw isn't even a proper weightclass.

 

I'd be in agreement with most of it. Only a couple of minor issues really:

• You placed Narvaez in both 4 and 5. I'd put him in pot 5 if I'm honest, great fighter and all, but his resume is poor. It's not like he's a young guy like Ward who we can rate on potential either, because he's about 35.
• Viloria, Solis and Lazarte are too high for my taste. Actually, Solis is alright, but the other two, Lazarte in particular, aren't all that great. I don't think I'd even have Lazarte in pot 5.
• Mijares is too low, I consider him superior to most of the fighters in the pot above him.

Other than that don't I wouldn't have many reservations. Maybe the placement of Moreno, but his wins over the likes of Sydorenko probably counter-act the fact that he isn't very good.

 

Call me crazy, but I wouldn't have Segura, Pong, Ward or Gamboa in my top 10.

 

Who would you have from 7-10 then mate? I agree on Ward and Gamboa, neither have yet done enough for me to say they merit the top 10. Wonjongkam would probably be in there if his opponents after the last Naito fight (Kameda aside) where anywhere near approaching acceptabel and I had Segura in there because since Canchila I, he has looked a beast and I still class the 1st Calderon win as special, even if he wasn't at the top of his game
