i consider the p4p top 30 as elite boxers. i know people only considers the top 10 as elite.. 1. Manny Pacquiao 2. Juan Manuel Marquez 3. Bernard Hopkins 4. Shane Mosley 5. Israel Vazquez 6. Miguel Cotto 7. Paul Williams 8. Ivan Calderon 9. Rafael Marquez 10. Ricky Hatton 11. Juan Manuel Lopez 12. Nonito Donaire 13. Vic Darchinyan 14. Chad Dawson 15. Kelly Pavlik 16. Celestino Caballero 17. Vitalai Klitschko 18. Wladimir Klitschko 19.Tomasz Adamek 20. Mikkel Kessler 21. David Haye 22. Fernando Montiel 23. Arthur Abraham 24. Joan Guzman 25. Humberto Soto 26. Chris John 27. Andre Berto 28. Jorge Linares 29. Joshua Clottey 30. Roman Gonzales 31-40 Tim Bradley, Nate Campbell, Juan Diaz, Victor Ortiz, Edwin Valero, Edgar Sosa, Robert Guerrero, Yuriorkis Gamboa, Hozumi Hasegawa, Lucian Bute
I have a hard time putting fighters ahead of guys that beat them. In the case of Shane and cotto Its one thing, that fight was close and could have really gone either way. But in the case of Donaire and Vic...No way. Donaire dominated Vic and knocked him out. But really does a p4p list need to go past the first 10??
but im really impress with the way darchinyan defeated mijares...still, if agbeko manage to win atleast 3 rounds against darchinyan goes out of top 15
The answer is NO. And I made this point on the same titled thread weeks ago. No one cares about a top 20, even a top 15 is a stretch. Bernard has lost 1 and won 1 in nearly 20 month, so I would like to know the criteria of putting him at #3, especially when the man he beat is at #15. Whether you hate him or not Wlad should be in the top 10
To be honest Mijares was a hype job, somewere along the lines of Jeff Lacy. In watching his fights I just never saw the greatness that he was suppose to have. What I saw was a guy that got some close calls in some fights that he should have lost. Not to mention that he lost his last fight to a newbie that went largely unspoke of. I would venue to bet that many dont even know that he lost a few weeks ago.
okie, but mijares displayed great skills in munoz an arce fight...if mijares is like lacy, then darchinyan should be outside top 20...i give guys credit who won despite being the underdog
Bernard is #1 Marquez is not top 5 Hatton is, as is Mosely Rafael Marquez is not active = not rankable
i am sure there are plenty of choices i have made here that will rub many of you the wrong way...but my top 30 goes something like this...though it is subject to change as, i admit, there were a number of choices that i might slide a few places one way or the other given some time to reconsider. 1. Manny Pacquiao 2. Juan Manuel Marquez 3. Bernard Hopkins 4. Shane Mosley 5. Miguel Cotto 6. Fernando Montiel 7. Paul Williams 8. Ivan Calderon 9. Rafael Marquez 10. Roman Gonzalez 11. Vic Darchinyan 12. Joan Guzman 13. Wladimir Klitschko 14. Chad Dawson 15. Kelly Pavlik 16. Israel Vazquez 17. Lucien Bute 18. Ricky Hatton 19. Arthur Abraham 20. Mikkel Kessler 21. Celestino Caballero 22. Tomasz Adamek 23. Felix Sturm 24. Nonito Donaire 25. Vitali Klitschko 26. Humberto Soto 27. Chris John 28. Juan Manuel Lopez 29. Jorge Linares 30. Timothy Bradley
Agree! BUT, isnt guy like David Haye worth of mention?:huh Basically he was the man in CW..:think Holding 3 major belts of 4.
Where is antonio margarito in these list's has he been offically banned from boxing for good has he? i thought he was just temporailly suspended
