I'm not saying you're wrong, I was just making the point that your cynicism was as tiring as you felt the original post to be....
Were you not negative in your comments towards the thread i.e being cynical? Oh yes, I think you were, but I mean its what you believe, right?
Being negative is not being cynical. They do not mean the same thing. I was being negative and still am, this type of horribly boring abysmal shite deserves negativity, but I was not being cynical at all. It's very obvious what this thread is. Yawn.
It's not cynicism though. Only a lunatic could think this was a serious, sincere, legitimate thread. And my comments did not take time and effort to produce, nor take up space in a boxing forum, nor were they designed to get me attention and a reputation for wackiness. If I had craved those things as this poor creature does, I would have made my own krazy list thread.
Well you told me to look in a dictionary: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/cynical cyn·i·cal (sn-kl) adj. 1. Believing or showing the belief that people are motivated chiefly by base or selfish concerns; skeptical of the motives of others: a cynical dismissal of the politician's promise to reform the campaign finance system. 2. Selfishly or callously calculating: showed a cynical disregard for the safety of his troops in his efforts to advance his reputation. 3. Negative or pessimistic, as from world-weariness: a cynical view of the average voter's intelligence. 4. Expressing jaded or scornful skepticism or negativity: cynical laughter. Maybe you should look in the dictionary next time :good
Despite your obvious efforts (again), it still doesn't work, no matter how big you make the letters. Being negative is not the same as being cynical. Being cynical implies a inbuilt scepticism to something which may or may not be legitimate, without or before knowing for sure. This hilariously funny joke list was painfully and obviously a dire and desperate attempt for attention, and to label it as such cannot in any way be attributed to cynicism. And I didn't cut and paste that either! :good
Oh yeah, you can just change what the definition of being a cynic is as you please, I mean as long as it suits your arguement. Put as much gloss as you want on it, being cynical can be a variety of different things, as listed in the passage from the dictionary I took.
It's cool the way you have jumped on the back of someone else's comment and are clinging to it to deflect from the absolute nosedive of your hilarious thread! Being negative is not the same as being cynical. If you actually knew what the word meant rather than simply regurgitate a sentence you pasted from an online dictionary, you would know that. :good
