    I like!

If Amir beats Judah this weekend I would place him higher than Bradley as his resume is better.

Exactly what I was thinking! Cotto also earns entry for me if he can beat Margo in the re-match.

Both Bute and Froch use sideways stance.
I think Froch with his huge range and Bute with his relexes wins agains Ward in having a better stance.

    Heres' why:

If you jab from an almost sideways stance you get much more length on your jab, throw it from the hip so that it will be a hard rising jab, and you tip it off less because the movement is less involved. it also ensures (standing nearly sideways) that your hip and shoulder are in front of your head. This allows for you to use the shoulder roll. Something that would be impossible with your hands to your ears and squared up. Standing hip and shoulder in front also allows you to lean with your upper body. so that you can lean just away or under from jabs left hooks and right hands. In other words it lets you control distance , you can make your opponent's punches end up being just short of landing, thereby forcing him to commit more on his punches.

People seriously think Wlad belongs on a P4P list? A headhunter from heavyweight who has what, three punches in his arsenal? Maybe it's just me but I don't think he would be would do very well at all if he was in any of the lower weight classes.

    Froch ?

In his last 3 fights vs true 168 lb fighters

He barely got by Glen Johnson - His complete lack of defense was put front and center

He won a very controversial decision vs Dirrell - I had him losing as did many others

He lost to a one eyed Kessler.

I think it is fair to wait for the Ward fight before putting him in the top ten.

If he would have dominated or KO'd GJ, Direll or Kessler than maybe top ten but just to put a fighter because he has a good chin or is tough is not enough.

He does not have enough power and a good enough defense to crack the list.

How is Hopkins getting rated so highly for beating Jean Pascal? He wasn't even ranked before their last fight, now he's top 5 again? It was a great win, but the list is pound for pound, not age for age.

    my list :

    1. Mayweather
    2. Pacquao
    3. Martinez
    4. Klitschko Wlad.
    5. Klitschko Vit.
    6. Donare
    7. Gamboa
    8. Hopkins
    9. winner of Ward/Froch
    10. JMM

My reasons for such a list: I place fighters according to their chances against top opposition available within current and neighboring weight classes.

Lets face it, Floyd is the more dominant figure in the ring than Pac (But I won't go into that because that will derail the thread), Wlad/Vit are untouchable for almost 7 years now with no end in sight (possibly Adamek, but that would be Vit's age more than anything), Martinez got everyone scared except Pirog, and will most likely destroy anyone up to 160, Donare and Gamboa are going to pretty much dominate p4p lists for the next decade, so much raw power and talent, Bhop's current opposition absolutely dismantles anyone else's, the only reason he is not higher is because at any moment we expect him to lose, the man is pushing 50 ffs. JMM is a legend, but a small and old one.

If Froch is on the list who could not dominate an over 40 shot Glen Johnson
How good is Manny Pacquiao for dominating less shot HOF fighters like Cotto and Mosley (at their experienced and sturdiest weight) without giving them a prayers chance of winning ?

    Anyways, I've got:
    1)Pac
    2)Floyd

    3)Donaire
    4)Wlad
    5)Martinez

These are my Rock-solid (a pun so bad I had to make it) top 5, separated into the tiers where I feel are names are interchangeable. The rest of the bunch, I'm not really sold on there being a huge gap between #6 (though I'd probably keep JMM at the top of the next tier) and # 10, so I didn't put too much work into exact placing:

    6. JMM
    7. Gamboa
    8. Ward
    9. Vitali
    10. Montiel

Just missing the cut/guys who a lower top 10 rating could also be argued for: Bute, Froch, Bradley, Nishioka, Pong, Khan, Hopkins, Robert Guerrero
