i like bute. but he realy hasn't stepped it up yet. bika is the best name on his resume but he isn't insactly a good offensive fighter. i will say that bute looked better than ward in that fight though. ward struggled against bika.

like u say the division is talent packed. to even get a shot at the wbo, wba and wbc belts you gotta beat guys like dirrell, bika, kessler.

He will step up this year. I can see him taking fights against Kessler/Direll this year. Prior to S6 only Kesler had a better resume then Bute. He may be a step down based on resume then few guys in that s6 , but he will take care of that this year. At lest I aspect him to do so .

A good offensive fighter, fits Bute like a glove. He actually fights better of the back foot. Like I said. Look for him this year to be involved in BIG fights.

Well, there are a lot of different P4P's out there and one poster may have one fighter at 3 and the other may have him at 10, but I'll give a list of 10 fighters that may'be in the top 10 a couple of yeras from now.

Juan Manuel Lopez- If Gamboa and Lopez ever do fight, I wouldn't be surprised if JuanMa does lose, but if he does I think he can overcome it and end up beating everybody else at 126 and not having much issue moving up to 130 and winning a couple of belts there in the next couple of years. A fight with Caballero, Roman Martinez, Uchiyama, whomever and I think he doesn't have much problems moving up to 130 and winning in that division.

Amir Khan- This is sort of the same with JuanMa, I think if he beats Bradley or loses to Bradley it doesn't hurt his chances too badly. He is talented and skilled enough to overcome it and with some nice match making and some hyping he can find his way to a lot of people's top 10, because again one person's P4P can be completely different from somebody else's.

Andre Ward- I think Ward beats Froch in May. Then may'be he fights Bute later in the year, that'll be a tough fight. Then in 2012 may'be a couple of mandatory defenses against less than steller competition. In 2013, a move up to 175 fights Pascal, or a rematch with Froch, Dawson, Shumenov, Cloud, etc. may'be one of these fighters and somebody that has a belt and that will wrap up his 2013.

Chad Dawson - I've got Dawson on here just because I don't think the Pascal loss really effected him too much mentally and physically, and neither in most people's P4P rankings. Avenging his loss over Pascal goes a long way and him being very inactive and getting a couple of wins over Cloud, Shumenov, or whoever good and that will probably be enough for Dawson.

Nonito Donaire- Back to what I was talking about up top. Ring has Donaire at what number 6? I don't have Donaire in my top 25. So, anyway, Donaire would probably have to beat Montiel in order to be in the top 10 in 2013...or may'be not, but either way he fights Montiel, later this year and into 2012 may'be a rematch with Darchinyan, and or the winner of the 118 tourney. So, either Mares or Agbeko. Then in late 2012/early 2013 a move up to 122 fights a belt holder, may'be WV2, Rigo, etc. and that should be it for Donaire.

Timothy Bradley- Again, bit risky considering he could lose to Amir Khan, but who gives a ****, right? I don't think a loss breaks him and he could easily rebound and clean up the 140 division as Khan moves up and tries to get some more belts. So, Bradley could clean up and make the tail end of some P4P lists by the end of 2013 comes around...and if he doesn't lose to Khan. Even better for Bradley because he can choose to stay down at 140 or move up and try out 147 again. Fight a couple of less than steller opponents and by then fight for whoever has a belt in 2013.

Saul Alvarez- Alvarez is being fast tracked, but very carefully as well. At the end of 2013 he could find himself on some P4P lists. May'be later this year he gets a belt from Berto....or the Super duper WBA belt that Senchenko has beat him, and then in 2012 have a super fight against Erislandy Lara for some belt, because I think that is the direction GBP wants. An epic Alvarez-Lara fight in the near future.

Miguel Vazquez- Very talented fighter and I believe when JMM retires Miguel Vazquez cleans up 135 and beats up everybody. I'm not going to get in super detail like I do when I breakdown fights in Kirk's thread, but Vazquez is very talented, a strong resume, and he is still young and I favor him over anybody at 135 right, and against JMM it's a toss up where I lean towards JMM. So, I think by then if Vazquez beats Rios, Soto, Katsidis, Guerrero all those guys I think he may find himself at the tail end of some P4P lists.

Roman Gonzalez - If Gonzalez stays down there at 108 and continues to win people will take notice ala Ivan Calderon and eventually he'll work his way up P4P. And especially, a win over Segura will go a long long way and really shoot him up.

Cesar Seda- Seda already has gotten a world title belt at 112 (if you consider the IBO a world title belt) and is now at 115 and on the verge of a title shot. May'be gets that title shot later in the year or sometime in 2012 defends it and eventually finds his way on some P4P lists with may'be victores over Mijares, moves up to 118 and may'be an epic PR-Mexico clash with Montiel and or Mares.

yeah good list. maybe a more solid bet than mine. i forget the lower weights at times cus im notr that knowlegale but of course nthey count aswell!lol
i do think lemieux could burst into the p4p list by end of 2013 though. couple of big ko wins over guys like martinez and williams and he will be laughing.
degale and benevides are certain stars of the future but might be a bit early for them.

timothy bradley might be a smart bet actually. i can see him getting out boxed by amir but like ur saying he could clean up at 140 and dominate that weight class while amir moves up. tims nothing if not hard to beat.

I think Pac will have retired by the end of 2013, but I don't think that is guaranteed

I can't see Mayweather retiring unbeaten. I think he'll always be lured back by potetially big money winnable fights. He isn't the sort of person that can walk away on top, like Calzaghe or Lewis. It seems pretty realistic that he will still be fighting in 2013. Maybe faded or even shot, and maybe with a loss on his record... but still there

Wlad I'm not too sure about. I can see Wlad retiring at the top and not coming back, which may happen before late 2013, and I can also see him still dominating the division at that point. He still seems to be very much at the top of his game and still improving his style so who knows? Even if Haye beats him this year (I can't see it) he can come back and regain the number 1 spot

What we should remember is how few fighters are capable of walking away when it would seem like the smart move to us. Common sense often doesn't apply
