Golovkin looks to be an elite talent, very technical and immense power to go with it. Nobody that's a hype job steam rolls the guys he has. Despite his talent, he hasn't achieved much yet. Not enough to be P4P #4 ahead of Rigo, Pacquiao, Kovalev, Crawford, etc. (some of those are debatable I suppose).

With that said, do you believe he was elevated P4P too quickly? Should he even be top 10?

hes clearly a pound for pound type of guy in my opinion

Pound for pound shouldn't be based solely on resume

Think 4 is to high I would be fine with upper top ten for now.

Top 10 is fine with me, just not 4. I'd say around 7-10. He shouldn't be ahead of Pacquiao or Kovalev.

I'd say hes definitely better than Kovalev pound for pound

But yeah, Pacquiao is probably a better pound for pound guy overall but he just had a loss and his last few years haven't been that great

I don't understand how Pacquiao went from #2, loses to Floyd in a relatively competitive fight, then he's #6. I'd probably put him at 4 or 5. Rigo at 4, Pac at 5, Kovalev at 6, Golovkin at 7; or something like that it's debatable, haven't completely made up my mind.

    1. Mayweather
    2. Gonzalez
    3. Klitchsko

    That's a good top 3 IMO.

4 is way too high, I think the lower end of p4p is arguable.

    Thats fair

Pound for pound is very subjective

I just think that if Kovalev or Klitschko were middleweights, they'd both be knock out cold by Golovkin

Thats why I have Golovkin higher

I agree with this. Ranjings should be based on resume (though in many cases they're not), p4p is mythical and has many other factors because of it. That said, GGG is a top 10 p4p fighter in my opinion. And while I dont rank him the number one middleweight I think he is clearly the best and would beat Cotto who I do rank number one based on his beating of the top guy at the time.

If they were middleweights, GGG vs Kova would be awesome. I think Klitchsko would be knocked out though, he's too one dimensional.

Pound forr pound is really about the best pure pugilist regardless of weight. Its not a resume/career achievement crown. Wlad shouldnt be in the top 10. Its hard to for most people to believe that if Wlad had a Manny Pac, GGG or even a Kell Brook talent at heavyweight that Wlad would still be a long reigning champ.

    My list:
    1. Floyd Mayweather
    2. Guillermo Rigondeaux
    3. Andre Ward
    4. Terence Crawford
    5. GGG

I'd say yeah it's guys like Crawford,Canelo,Estrada hell even Broner who have better resume than GGG.

I know people will argue GGG is the best but he's fought no one to legitimately prove it. If he fights/beat Froch a move like that would raise his current standing to me but right now any top 10 P4P spot is premature.

How in the hell do you get to be P4P #4 while having done *nothing* other than open TOMATO CANs? How does that work?

Please explain how Crawford has a better resume than GGG. GGG has fought more top 10 opposition (in his respective division) than Crawford (has done in 2) and has beaten them in a more convincing manner.
Crawford lost the first 4 rounds agaisnt Gamboa and should have been down in the scorecards agaisnt Thomas freaking Dulorme.

Why does GGG have to move up to "prove" himself. Middleweight division has tons of fighters, it's not his fault people like you thinks it's a weak division. Name me 5 divisions that have more depth than Middleweight, Super Middleweight definitely doesn't.

Ya he's definitely too high but I strongly disagree he should be below Crawford.
