I like how Pacquaio is winning the poll yet nobody has bothered commenting to explain their point of view.

I picked Pac, because his power was tested against the best of the sport including Barrera and Morales at featherweight both of whom had great chins and iron grit. It's rare to see both of these fighters ever get knocked down. He even knocked out Ricky Hatton in two rounds something that not even Kostya Tszyu or FMJ could do. You could argue that Kostya Tszyu was a 36 year old boxer coming out of a recent retirement, but Hatton has a good chin nonetheless. Pac even stopped Oscar De La Hoya. Again you can argue DLH being old and well passed his prime, but DLH is the taller and bigger specimen (at least skeletal bone wise). And of course Pac's recent win with the naturally stronger, bigger, and younger Cotto. Cotto's chin isn't the best in the sport, but you still got to respect the fact that Pac went up in weight.

Felix "Tito" Trinidad comes a close second to me. He knocked out Fernando Vargas and Ricardo Mayorga, a feat that's hard to accomplish. In fact, it was the first time that Mayorga had ever been knocked down before let alone knocked out.

I've also been a fan of Kostya Tszyu, and his power is amazing at 140 lbs. He knocked out Zab Judah (at his prime), and Sharmba Mitchell. Mitchell is a strong strong fighter. Tszyu even wore down Oktay Urkal, a boxer who at the time had never been knocked down in his whole career, however, Tszyu could not knock him down. He was close though at times. Tszyu always destroyed everyone else until Hatton came along. Tszyu even knocked down the great Julio Cesar Chavez, and that was first time JCC had ever been knocked down, and to my knowledge the only time ever also. You could argue that JCC was old and well passed his prime, but it is still amazing.

Naz is in the running too, but I've never seen it against the chin of a Barrera or a Morales, both of whom had great chins in the sport. Naz did fight Barrera, but never landed anything to hurt him, this of course may be due to Barrera outboxing Naz.

Edwin Valero may actually be the hardest hitting boxer in the sport today. He's grown stronger, and his punches (especially his right hand) has become more effective and sharper. Until Valero test himself against the very best in the sport, it's hard to guage where his power truly stands.

Roy Jones Jr. has incredible power and incredible speed. Perhaps the greatest boxing talent ever. He knocked down some tough dudes like James Toney. He's definitely up there.

Ike Quartey's power is very respectable, but the only problem with Ike is that he's not a volume puncher, and he doesn't have the body movement to land his punches. Ike is a true puncher. He puts everything in it with mean intentions. His jab is one of the most powerful pound-per-pound ever, perhaps even stronger than DLH's.

Vic Darchinyan has one of the strongest punches. He throws it with mean intentions. I got to see this guy with better comp.

Marcos Rene Maidana has the strongest punch in the 140 lb. division today. His power is stronger than Ortiz, Khan, Hatton, and etc. He has something like a 93% KO record; 26 out of his 27 fights were knock-outs!

Please vote, and I like to get everyone's opinion.

I forgot to write something about Miguel Cotto. Cotto is one of the greatest and hardest body punchers in my opinion. The only other great body punchers in the last decade were Ike Quartey and Fernando Vargas that I can think of. Julio Cesar Chavez, in the decade before, had good body punching. I guess you could throw in Antonio Margarito's body punching performance against Cotto, but Margarito was much taller than Cotto, that's why he could do all that body punching.
