an inferior fighter sometimes beats a better fighter, but im asking when was the last time a lower ranked fighter is favored to win in the betting odds?

There was Oscar - Pacman, that was down to the alleged massive size difference.

Pavlik - Hopkins - The lower ranked fighter actually moved up two weight divisions and found himself a big favorite.

I also have to go with recent accomplishments. The Donaire/Darchinyan example was a great one. Up until recently, people were seriously considering Margarito near the top of the P4P rankings - but would you consider the nobodies to whom he had unavenged losses earlier in his career to be better P4P fighters? The same goes for Caballero, who has been a beast at super bantamweight but lost to Cordoba back in the day. He has accomplished much more than Cordoba since then, but Cordoba is nowhere near Caballero in P4P consideration. There are more examples, but those are off the top of my head.

    Agreed.

Let's say, for example, on this dude's list from a site about boxing, he rates Taylor P4P over Kessler at 168. I'd take Kessler in that match in a heartbeat. He also rates Mosley over Cotto at 147, and I'd take Cotto again in that match-up. Same goes for Pavlik being rated over Abraham at 160, and I'd take Abraham there, too.

you would hardly see a lower ranked fighter favored to beat(betting odds) a higher ranked fighter...

i favor taylor over kessler so i put taylor abve kessler in the p4p rankings. same goes with pavlik over AA. cotto and mosley is close to me.

i can only think of pavlik-hopkins..hopkins is #4 and pavlik is #7 by the ring magazine...but in any other p4p list they put pavlik ahead of hopkins. remember that hopkins was almost KD in the calzaghe fight and used the 5 minute below the belt break to gain the needed air
