If not, it's very hard to put Pac ahead of JMM very far. Be it current divisional rankings, current p4p rankings, or all time p4p rankings.

Their 2 fights, regardless of who wins and who loses (or drew), were too close to seperate one another by more than a few spots on an all time list, and no more than 1 (ARGUABLY 2) on any current lists.

Hence why JMM is my number 3, and Joe C is my number 4.... Although I'll admit, there's probably more to it than JUST that. :D

    I would.

Pacquiao boxed Larios' ears off and made him look downright slow and foolish. He also knocked him down twice. It was total domination except for 1 sequence in round 3, and even that round could be argued for Pacquiao.

I would be surprise if it becomes a Larios fight.

Dunno, but I guess 135 will be too much for him, especially in carrying his combination of speed and power. Even against a limited but rugged David Diaz.

    Nice!!! 100% agreed!!!!

Pac is in the Transitional period where he has to fight differently than his early years. He's becoming more defensive, fighting smart and Less aggressive. This doesn't mean he's on the decline. He'll be fighting bigger guys now, he needs all these tools to succeed and stay on top.

If we start seeing Pac getting hit flush again and again by a non top 10 P4pounder and started to wobble and Clinch after getting hit just like in Hatton with Lazcano. Then we can say he's on the decline. But we haven't seen that yet. Larios, JMM, EM hit Pac flush but still Pac is still in the attack after getting hit. The last time we saw Pac really got into trouble was with the Hussein fight almost a decade ago.

If we start seeing him like that, he ought to retire then! He is SHOT by that time.

What I meant, on a decline, he has lost some of his effectiviness, which are the speed and power.

His fight with Diaz will answer a lot of questions.

nice post! very good points. it's hard to argue them and myth is the right word for we have no physical evidence that he is really on a decline. but we must remember that every boxers do decline. and pac, approaching 30 and had 14 years of ring age is not exactly a young fellow. sooner or later, we will see him fade. enjoy a fighter like him while he last.

not on the decline. it is, imo, a change of fighting style. He has changed from being a typhoon into a tropical storm.

he is now in a heavier division, with heavier opponents and coming in with his usual all out aggression will do him no good.

His game has changed, but not yet on the decline.

Exactly. Just like MAB did before his fight against Hamed and Hopkins before his fight against Trinidad.
