It's always disconcerting, to me, to see a Floyd fan look down on Pac fighting/beating Margo and Cotto when Floyd himself only has mythical match-up win against these 2.

 

It has nothing to do with being a fan of Floyd. I'm a fan of the best fighting the best, whenever possible.

Pac is not fighting these fighters at their best, or even their perceived best (and the C/Ws diminish the victories, even more). We have yet another example with Shane. :-(

Did you even read my posts? If so you would have seen I mentioned that I never once believed pac ducked shane because he took on an equally tough fight in cotto.

The facts are the facts, he wasn't willing to fight 147 shane when 147 shane was the top man.

 

I don't really see the big deal in Pac/Arum choosing to fight Cotto instead of Shane. Cotto beat Shane. Cotto-Pac was a damn good fight.

I just see what you're doing as nitpicking/hypocritical when the fighter you seem to like better is doing much worse in not taking the best fight available.

You also have to remember that Cotto's contract with TR expired after the Margo fight...rumor was, Cotto re-signed with TR because he was promised a Pac fight. Arum was just following thru with the promise.

 

You see it as understandable, I don't. When shane was ranked 3rd out of all current boxers and coming off an arguable career best performance pac wouldn't fight him at the full weight.

Now that shane is two years removed from a victory, pac will fight him at 147.

As I said, I don't see it as a duck because he fought cotto instead. But I do see it as a joke fight now that he didn't want when it would have been relevant.

Aside from floyd he is a huge favourite vs any welter. If he wants to continue getting credit, he should defend his light middleweight title.

Yes...I think Floyd is a better fighter, skill-wise. And? I don't attempt to defend every decision he makes. And if he and his camp told Shane he was "too good", even at 143, then turned around and fought the 2nd best option, at a C/W just two lbs above 143, I would call him out on that too.

With Manny...you seem more satisfied with quantity...not quality. Yes, Manny fought Cotto and Margarito. But, he fought diminished versions of each, and at C/Ws. Even Freddie had Shane ranked as the top threat at WW, in his own top three, before the Cotto fight.

Floyd fought Shane (albeit not prime), who was perceived to be the biggest threat in the division, and was the highest ranked WW at that time, as well as #3 P4P. That pretty much makes up for him not fighting the versions of Cotto and Margarito that Manny faced. Time for a new argument.

Yes...Cotto-Pac was a great fight. But, it's somewhat overrated, in its relevance.

Let it be clear, Void is running from Pac! Void is void. Void is extremely afraid. Void beats up women! Void threatened small children, chased them to beat them up! Roid rage?! Void beats up security guards, etc. Yes, the pressure is getting to Void. Void is ashamed that he is afraid of Pac and it's showing. Void does not want to fight Pac because he thinks he will get knocked out. Void's fans do not want Void to fight Pac for the same reason.

Pac had no problem facing Mosley. It was a business decision by Arum.

Think about if they fought then - a 60/40 split. Today, it was a 80/20 split. Nice move by Arum.
