Leon as much as I like your posts.... You prove time and time again that you are very delinquent when it comes to this sport. I think you really do like this sport so keep your head up and your eyes open....:hi:
I guess when I think of truly 'slick' fighters, I think of fighters who know when to make the right adjustments at the right time. If in-fighting is necessary they do that. If fighting off the back foot is necessary they do that. The awareness in the ring, and the caginess to take away certain weapons from their opponent. The ability to work behind the jab when necessary, clinch when necessary, ambidextrous, give angles, feint etc. Also, fighters that can slip a punch, have good defense, and know how to make a fighter miss and pay. I think Nonito Donaire is quite slick, actually. Obviously, he's still learning his craft. But, that kid has the potential to be a great fighter, IMO.
Pac fanboys pulling out the flyweight vids. Sasaukisushi is a bum, apparently being slick is blocking jabs and straight lefts with your head in Thailand. Morales looked shot and drained vs. Raheem losing decisively. Pac proves he takes on slick fighters by taking on the loser Morales not only once but twice. Then letting Marquez wait 4 years for a rematch.
Sasakul can do all that. At times against Archabakov he is walking him down and its similar to Mayweather vs Mosley. But then again just cause a fighter is slick does not mean he will win every fight.
but he aint Black American....to be a great fighter, do you really have to be slick?is it a requirement?
Lets be honest here and start naming fighters that Pac should have faced... You're calling champs bums, showing 0 respect... So because Morales couldn't make weight for Raheem he's a bum.. No, he was beat fair and square against a much bigger technical boxer...
He couldn't do most of it in that fight, apparently. He mostly fought off his back foot, from what I can tell. It's not like Pac was doing anything to prevent him from employing some of the other tools in his skill set. Pac was was just walking him down trying to land the left hand. Pac looked quite green, actually. A cagier fighter would've picked up on Pac's repetitive pattern, in that fight, I think, and made him pay more often.
Yes the grass is always greener on the other side.. But yet Pac at this stage has fought legends and only two men have shown any weaknesses in pacs armor.... JMM and Morales, hardly anything to get your panties in a bunch over...
uhh yea, he couldn't do it in that fight cause of his opponent. Doesn't mean he can't do it at all. Like I said there are other fighters where he does it.
NO...he's not African-American, obviously. And? Of course it's not a requirement. It's just another style in boxing. It's a style that has left its imprint on the sport, and has proven quite dominant when mastered.
