Right...many people do not follow fighters whose careers took place almost exclusively in Asia. As little television as boxing gets, these days, you have to be a standout to capture the attention of international boxing fans.... particularly, those of us in the US, who are used to seeing better athletes, in general. Not only that, the smaller fighters get even less attention, from the networks, as it is.

Then, the TS shows a clip where Sasakul gets chased down and KO'd by a one handed fighter (Pac) swinging wildly, and missing repeatedly with the same repetitive combination, never being made to pay, in an attempt to argue that Pac has faced someone "slick".

It would've made more sense to set the table with some vids, where we see the best of Sasakul, where his "slickness" prevailed and was on full display. Then follow up with his fight against Pac.

It just came off as reaching...to someone like myself, who, as I said, have not followed fighters like Sasakul, for the, aforementioned, reasons above.

To me, it has NOTHING to do with him not being Black. I happen to think Donaire is very slick.

You cant put this logic against Floyd's opponents,
they cant be less black no matter what ....
however nothing is perfect they can be less overweight
    and less blood drained.

Sasakul although not a "slick Black American", fights like Floyd without the shoulder roll.
Pac has a blueprint to knock out Floyd.

Lmao @ Philla being a very biased Pacquiao fan. Listen here knucklehead that fight was 12 years ago. What happen after 1998? Why hasn't Pacquiao fought a slick fighter since then????? Pac could have fought Raheem instead of Morales but Pac didn't have faith to beat him. Pac could have fought Guzman but nope Pac fought a paper champion David Diaz. Pacquiao will only fight a fighter that is 1 dimensional, damage good, over the hill fighter.

Where have you been? Have you ever heard of posters like Karceno and some new alts who have just posted this October who bash Pac at every turn? Are you new in ESB? Those guys who created those mythical fights matching Pac against KingKong, SRR, Ali, etc. are Pacquiao haters who want to demystify Pac's incredible wins. If you're objective enough and observe this guy Sasakul, he was truly a slick fighter that some people find in black fighters. He initially put Pac in trouble w/ his counterpunches until Pac tag him w/ big left straights. Are you afraid that Pac may employ the same tactics in fighting so-called slick black Americans whoever they are?

Btw, Pinoys who are majority of Pacfans do not observe Thanksgiving nor eat turkey? It's not a tradition for them. They prefer to observe the longest Christmas season in the world culiminating to a midnight noche buena which is a family affair where they partake of native foods like roasted pig, adobo, pancit, puto bumbong, queso de bola, ham, etc.

:rofl at Ledwaba and Sasakul being considered slick.

Maybe on the gatekeeper level they are slicksters.

  10. I thought Ledwaba was pretty slick. Maybe not Mayweather slick, but definitely not a brawler.

If you are a hard-core boxing fan, you are supposed to know that they were actually excellent boxers back then. It is shame if you didn't follow their fights at that time.

I really loved Ledwaba and the way he boxed. He was not a KO puncher; however, his punches were really precise and sharp enough to hurt his opponents. Besides he boxed excellently, showing some slickness both in defensive and offensive manners as far as I remembered.

Sasakul had a really great resume in which he outboxed and defeated then great flyweight champion yuri Arbachakov.

Hard-core boxing fans were supposed to know those facts.

he was not well prepared for a pacquiao type opponent as his original opponent could not make it. pac was a last minute sub. ledwhaba contends that with proper preparation he could have beaten pac. while the same argument is true for pac, he doesnt need much preparation because pac relies more on his natural athletic ability..
