The thing that most annoyed me about this fight over the weekend was the amount of love their was between the two 'fighters'.... Even from the weigh they were giggling like a couple of school girls.....I can appreciate mutual respect and all that but COME ON!! for goodness sake it was getting ridiculous... throughout the fight how many times did they have to touch gloves..... for some reason i thought i had tuned into see a fight not two grown men hugging AGAIN!! before the final bell has even gone!!! say what u want about Floyds arrogance and his trash talk but in my opinion fighters who don't go on for ages about how great and nice their opponent is makes more interesting viewing. In the build up all they were going on about is how they want to entertain people and after one of pacs combos he went over to Clottey and touched his glove as if to say "are you ok", "I didn't hurt u did I"..... couple of bitches!! At least u know floyd vs sugar shane is gonna be a real fight man against man who actually wanna do the other guy damage... even if they hug after the fight between now and then u aint gonna get 6 weeks of them KISSING EACH OTHERS ASSES!!! rant over (my 1st thread) :good thoughts?
I noticed the same thing and was pissed. Like are these dudes family members or something? they were so nice to each other. A ****in HUG give me a break. They wanted to play nice all night like we was watching sesame street or something. ****ing Bert & Ernie as clowns!!!!
+1 I'm never ordering a PPV again unless the opponents bring up divorces and giving charity to the the other fighter's children.
Gatti-Ward trillogy comes to mind, both guys were great friends outside the ring but inside they fought like they wanted to kill each other.
Yep the "love-in" was ridiculous, Binki must be wondering if Pac's been playing away again!!! , don't worry though because if Manny mans up and faces Floyd next there will be mayhem from the first moment they meet till final bell rings, it remains to be seen whether Manny can cope without him and his opponant sharing hugs and kisses though!! .
****en hell, just because the sport involves beating another man to a pulp doesn't mean the fighters can't show some respect like in every other ****ing sport on the planet
I noticed the same thing. A hug in the 12th round? I agree with bladerunner, Gatti and Ward showed each other the ultimate respect - they went full throttle at each other.
I remember when Vargas spit on his opponent when he was down,i remember when Tyson bit Holyfield's ear and tried to break Botha's arm,i remember when James Buttler sucker punched his opponent after the fight with his gloves off,Man those were Good Times.
