Gloves is an issue but not a very big issue. I can't remember the last time a big fight like Pac/Cotto bout was canceled only because they couldn't agree on what type of gloves to use. Although I could be wrong.

Terry Norris and Meldrick Taylor fought for Norris' belt at 149, five pounds under the limit. Why is it such a big difference, two pounds, especially if it's still in the Welterweight division?

Everybody forgotten that 145 was reportedly Cotto's suggestion again?

Fighters don't have to weigh in at 147, and Cotto weighed 146 for the Clottey fight. Two pounds shouldn't make a difference, whether for 145 or 147.

Who knows, could be more phsycilogical than anything; getting under Cotto's skin or making him uneasy.

. What if the catch weight was 146? Some of you are bitching like full WW means weighing in exactly at 147lbs/the limit. We've beaten this topic the past couple of weeks already.

... so what's the fukken problem?

Be grateful that we'll be able to see a fight of this magnitude go down in the first place along with other great fights in the past that had catchweights. Can't complain.. Cotto knows he has the weight advantage but at least he is trying to make it fair at 145 even though it's hardly....

over 140 and 147 or below is welterweight, nothing wrong with the belt being at stake.

as long as your from 141-147 the title is on the line. Cotto just fought Clottey and he was 146, if he comes in 145 how the hell can anybody say his title should ne on the line??

Its the idea of MANDATING that your opponent come in less than the division limit. Want to know where this is going?

If Nate beats Bradley, then we have a mandatory with Lamont Peterson. I will let Top Rank know that unless Peterson agrees to 138, then its going to purse bid. Then we have a rematch with Bradley. I will stipulate that unless Bradley comes in at 137 there is no rematch.

Now do you see the dangers in allowing fighters to redefine the weight divisions in title fights? Look, if Pac and Cotto want to get it on at 145, then fine. But it should NOT be for the WW title.

Besides, dont most of the *******s say that "titles dont matter" anyways? lol
