I love the fact that you read that tactic into my comment when it wasn't intended. If you're going to extrapolate from little comments like that, it's good to know the poster. You're clearly unfamiliar with me, for instance.
you could always take a vote... and try to get berto to be next in line. no? after pac is beat..what would be the next good enough challenge?
Next in line? He should've already fought some of these guys. He's 33 himself now. If he wanted to prove that he was the best welterweight, and you go back to when he first entered the division over 4 years ago, he should've started with Margarito then Cotto. (And I'm starting with when he beat Baldomir for the title, not Mitchell). Margo was considered the best welter when Floyd moved up, and Cotto moved up and won his title by destroying Quintana a few months after Floyd beat Baldomir. Mosley won a share of the title in early 07. So at that point, the four champions were Cotto, Margarito, Mosley and Floyd. All three of the other guys fought each other, and Floyd fought none of them, until three years later when one of them is just a few months from turning 39. Since then: Cintron hit the scene and was blowing guys out. Floyd wouldn't face him so he went to Margo and got ruined. Berto has been an undefeated champion for two years now. Williams first won his title three years ago, lost it and won it back again in dominant fashion all in a year. And I haven't even mentioned Clottey or Pac. But guess what. Floyd hasn't face any of those guys either. He has steadfastly stayed away from any and all of the real threats in the division.
**** off with this clottey bs. no one ever mentioned clottey until pac fought him. clottey is garbage u ****in idiot
Clottey, Cotto, Margarito, are you serious...these are the cats that Mayweather "ducked" man GTFOH...a known proven cheat, a over the hill "never was", and Cotto who is damaged goods. Man please STFU with this...if you want to say Mayweather would lose, you hate him, whatever please don't try to sell that he ducked cats that are clearly not on his level.
You're full of it. Or more likely, just don't know **** about the sport. Clottey was considered a tough out for years. He gave Margo all he wanted, and Cotto all he wanted. Pac shut him out, and those are the only people he's lost to, but that doesn't change the fact that Clottey was a player in the division while Pac was still a featherweight. And it should be mentioned, Clottey's only losses were to three guys that Floyd wouldn't/won't fight. So you really can't say jack **** about what Floyd "might've" done. He should've stepped up and proved it himself. But he's a chicken**** champ. Has been since he left lightweight.
Margarito or non old man Mosley would have been tough fights for Floyd, where I don't think he would come out with a guaranteed W. They also would have made his 147 resume much better.
How would you know they're not on his level. Other than Margo-Mosley, none of them have ever lost to anyone Floyd had the guts to face. Those guys are better than the ones he fought. I don't know who you mean over-the-hill. But none of those guys are even yet as old as JMM, DLH and Mosley were when he fought them. Much less that old when Floyd got to 147 in 2006. This is what I mean by Floyd fans aren't really boxing fans. You obviously don't know **** about boxing, other than Floyd. You people keep wanting to call Clottey a nobody. But he beat Judah, and kicked Baldomir's ass before being DQ'd for a non-existent headbutt six years before Floyd even got to 147. And still none of the guys he lost to has Floyd dared step in against. But I guess Zab and Carlos, two guys Clottey beat up, were worthy opponents right? Dumbass. Cotto? Damaged goods? Not in 2006 when they were both undefeated champions. Your dumbass is showing again. Rationalize about your hero all you want. Tell yourself, if it makes you feel better, that he "WOULD HAVE" beat all those guys. But dont come telling me he's a real champ. A real champ would've proved he could beat them.
