    No Pacquiao-Mayweather in 2010 - Arum

    to happen any time soon.

This came after Bob Arum, promoter of Filipino ring icon Manny Pacquiao, publicly expressed doubt on the possibility of his prized ward facing Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a bout pitting two of the world’s top pound-for-pound fighters.

The ageless promoter said he’s having doubts that Pacquiao will take on Mayweather next if gets past

on Nov. 14 (Nov. 15 in Manila), citing problems that may possibly arise during negotiations.

“I don’t think (Pacquiao-Mayweather) will happen within the next year because of all of Mayweather’s posturing, the trash talk. That impedes any realistic negotiations. It would just be too difficult,” Arum told Michael Rosenthal of The Ring.

Even Pacquiao’s chief trainer Freddie Roach is on the same page as Arum.

“It seems like there’s a lot of things working against this fight ever happening,” Roach earlier told The Los Angeles Times. “It makes sense. It’d be a great fight, but it seems there’s a lot of distractions around it. I don’t think it’s going to happen.”

It was earlier reported that the issue of the purse split may derail a Pacquiao-Mayweather duel, as neither fighter is willing to settle for an equal sharing of the pot.

    Mayweather came out of

to school Juan Manuel Marquez — Pacquiao’s arch-nemesis — cruising to a lopsided victory last Sept. 19.

Asked if Pacquiao is doomed to suffer the same beating as Marquez had if the Filipino goes up against Mayweather, Arum sang a different tune.

“Styles make fights,” Arum said, citing an age-old boxing adage.

“Mayweather is a defensive specialist and Marquez is a counter puncher. Mayweather forced Marquez to be aggressive, which isn’t his game. Marquez needs his opponent to be aggressive. When Manny fought Marquez — and it’s not the same Manny now — Manny was the aggressor. Marquez was able to win a lot of rounds because he’s a good counter puncher,” he added.

Arum even provided additional examples to stress
    his point.

“Just because A beats B and B beats C, it doesn’t mean A will necessarily beat C. Look at the heavyweights from years ago. George Foreman could fight Joe Frazier and Ken Norton a hundred times each and the result would be the same, a Foreman knockout. Muhammad Ali could fight Joe Frazier 100 times and every one would be a war. The same with Ken Norton; he just couldn’t figure out his style. Then you put Ali in with Foreman and he’s able to knock him out. Manny is a different type of fighter than Marquez,” he said.

And what about the same fight which he thinks won’t happen at all?

“I think Pacquiao and Mayweather would be a fascinating fight,” Arum quipped.

Damn... That was quick. Why Arum? Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?

Actually I dont care anyways. Pac is an easy fight for Floyd. I d rather he face Cotto (Who is going to beat down Pac first anyways), or he face Mosley.

End of the day, Im sure Arum wants this fight as much as anyone else. Pac is due to retire soon so Arum is probably looking to cash out, what bigger cash out option is there than PBF-pac? Both fighters will have to agree to 50-50...simple as that.

If you can't see that they are CLEARLY ducking and with endless excuses coming straight out of their own pockets then YOU must have issues.

Only a few months ago cockroach said that Mayweather will be easier than Hatton and Cotto. Then he changed his opinion to "We want more money and more everything" and people continue to cheer on. What next will they cheer on?, "We want it to be at a catchweight of 137.4 pounds with the WBO welterweight title on the line".

Arum and cockroach are putting words in Mayweather's mouth and people are taking it as Mayweather really said those things when in reality it's coming out of their asses and BOTH OBVIOUSLY don't want to make that fight. I know that Pacquiao wants it and badly, that I am sure of. His promoter and trainer don't seem to have confidence even though they're the ones to mention it the most. Just watch the video of Arum dissing that MMA ******ed interviewer, he says loud and clear he DOESN'T WANT THAT FIGHT because he thinks it will be boring.

Pac should go after the Welterweight champ Mosley and let fraud fight bantamweights.

No he doesn't. He made it clear he would rather keep Pac for others in his stable. As long as he has others in Pac's weight category he will consider those. Why feed hype he worked to make for others unless he's obligated?

    [yt]yE_tsPatoBU[/yt]

If that was Ellerbe or anyone in Floyd's corner saying that about Pac I assure you a lot of haters here will have a lot to say and endless threads to make. A certain ******ed homosexual gay porno addict posting here in the name of "dickrunner" will be leading the gay parade.

Yes, Floyd should fight either Gamboa or man up and call out Calderon

............... at catch-weight of course as Floyd always do.

Sometimes the single brilliant thought is worth to be copied and spread out rather than flush out the stream of crap with every opening of the mouth.

I can give you an example of Mayweather being difficult now which is more relevant - him repeatedly saying in interviews that he won't accept a 50-50 split with the current p4p#1. That won't work and you know it.

Not making Mayweather vs. Pacquiao would be tragic.

...and then Dana White would be right about boxing not making the biggest fights.
