It is hard to explain. Another thing is that he is hitting harder as he moves up. He cudnt knock marquez out, or lariosmor barrera in ther rematch but nearly kills hatton and kos a strong WW like cotto. quite odd.

    Exactly.

    Diaz... well, ya....

De La Hoya nearly lost his life making weight and had nothing in the ring.

    Hatton never really got started.

Cotto was down at 145lbs and was out of the fight after five or six rounds.

Clottey? Well, his training camp is a ****ing joke with the slew of problems there and I expect him to show up without focus and get stopped by Pacquiao, probably without serious resistance.

So, Pacquiao's chin really hasn't been tested over 130lbs enough to say. Credit that to him and to selective matchmaking.

Hitlers commisioner of propaganda once said 'if you tell a lie often enough, it becomes the truth."
Well the commisioner of free base told a lie, and his desperately scared son perpetuated it , until , viola, the fight with Paq was off.
Only problem was he got backed into a corner to fight Mosely. Even though thats a tough enough task, both Floyds know that Manny is doing a lot more damage to opponents these days than Shane is.
Funny thing is , Shane is the one who was tied to PED use , while Mannys only crime was putting on muscle with calories and excersice. The use of PED's by Manny was pure inuendo started by the ignorant Mayweathers.

Is that even verifiable? Oscar said that he didn't hit hard, Diaz said that it was more the speed than power, Cotto was simply beaten to the punch throughout the fight (for people that think that Cotto was outboxing Manny at any point after the first round) and it accumulated.

It could come down to a combination of things. As others have said not having to drain weight will make him more durable. Look at Cotto, he was hurt at 140lbs but seems more durable at 147lbs.

The punch that KO's you or hurts you the most is the punch you don't see, against bigger slower fighters, he is more likely to see the punch coming and with his improved defence is more likely to slip it or take something off it.

Dude your pulling all these statements out of your ass.

Pac DID have to cut weight to make the lower weights, this is an indisputable fact. Why do you think he jumped from 112 to 122 after his loss to Sinsurat? Look at his unofficial weigh ins compared to his fighting weight. Against Marquez, Pacquiao weighed in officially at 130 but was 144 by fight night for example.

Futhermore, fighters of all shapes and sizes (barring heavyweights for the most part) cut weight. That's the nature of the game. In fact, you'd be hardpressed to find a fighter that DOESNT cut a considerable amount of weight for fights.

EM, JMM and MAB are all better P4P then pacquiaos recent opponents. They are simply better, hit harder P4P, were faster, more skilled and more durable.

he actually has to eat more just to make weight which is the exact opposite of what other boxers do. starve themselves then rehydrate..

    (Totatally avoiding the PED issue...)

I think it is a question of skill versus ability to utilize the skill. All accomplished boxers have the SKILL to fight. The difference is that as the conditioning goes so does the skill. I am sure at that level of boxing the dieting involved to cut weight comes at a price to conditioning. Power at a weight versus energy levels after shedding weight is a precise balance.

Maybe without having to cut, Manny can be that much more energized. His slipping and rolling with punches is that much better. His positioning and explosiveness is that much more effective. He has more energy to implement his skill. The end product is amazing KOs.
