GIVING U THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT...NOW GO LOOK FOR YOURSELF INSTEAD OF LOOKING AT WHAT OTHER POSTERS HAVE TO SAY...I LOOK MY **** UP BEFORE I POST..U SHOULD TRY DOING THE SAME SO U DONT POST INCORRECT INFORMATION...

AND LETS NOT GET OFF TOPIC NOW EITHER...ALL IM SAYING IS THAT U CANT COMPARE THE 2...MAYWEATHER MOSLEY IS A MUCH BIGGER FIGHT..BUT I THINK ITS FAIR TO COMPARE THE PACQUIAO-COTTO TO THE MAYWEATHER MOSLEY? WHAT YOU THINK?

BTW UR A PRETTY GOOD POSTER...U CLEARLY FOLLOW MORE THAN JUST MANNY..CANT STAND POSTERS WHO ONLY FOLLOW PAC.THEY THINK THEY KNOW THERE **** WHEN THEY CLEARLY DONT KNOW MORE BOUT BOXING THAN THE PERSON THERE DEBATING WITH....:good

Just looking at the common opponent only presents half of the story. Both Hatton and De La Hoya weren't as big a draw after their losses, Marquez fought Pacquiao when neither was a huge draw, Pacquiao faced the first two during a recession etc..

It's not excuses, just valid reasons why you can't simply look at the numbers and expect them to give you the full story.

I don't think anyone would say that if Pacquiao destroyed Hatton and De La Hoya first, that when they faced Mayweather, they would have sold more PPV buys. Of course they wouldn't. Similarly, if you swapped Mayweather with Pacquiao in terms of the Marquez fight, it's also hard to imagine the Pacquiao/Marquez fight wouldn't have done better numbers.

The problem is, this is all speculation and to some people the only thing that matters are the facts, which show, possibly innaccurately, that Mayweather is a bigger draw than Pacquiao.

so than you admit that the mayweather mosley #'s in comparison with the cotto-pac #'s will give an accurate representation as to who is the bigger draw?

I DIDNT MAKE THIS THREAD TO ARGUE BUT THE PAC FANS JUST DONT LIKE THAT THEY GET OWNED SO THEY MAKE THE THREAD ABOUT OTHER ****...THEY SHOULD PROBABLY JUST STICK TO THE TOPIC AT HAND IN EACH THREAD...

    Yeah, I think so.

There are other things to be considered too, such as promotion, but there's novesy of proving any of that. I do suspect Mayweather/Mosley will do higher numbers because of this but it is overcomplicating things.
