Pac coming in at 144.6 without even trying means that he could fight at LW

  1. Bullsheet you joined 2004 and just over 200 posts? You for real man? That's once in a bluemoon. Or do you just post whenever big fights come? :good

I agree with some of your observations. Pacquiao is a bloated fighter that should fight in the 135s. I dunno but I actually feel for him when he loses tomorrow. He's had a good career and resume anyway. Not as good as Floyd's but good nonetheless. I hope Margo has mercy on him and makes it quick. :good

Because whereas he couldnt dent Clottey in 12 and took 12 to take out Cotto, it took him 2 rounds to take out Hatton at 140. Pac is a better fight at 140 than 147, he retains his speed, power, the difference is his opponents dont have the luxury of being bigger than him. The only reason his opponents are being given a slight chance so far, are because they are bigger than him.

He doesnt have to be natural at the weight, he fights as well there as any weight Ive seen him (cant judge the Hatton one properly, 2 rds is not enough time), he has zero problems at the weight, quite the opposite.... he has had all but 1 of his recent big wins at 147 & looked amazing so any defeat from now at that weight is fair game IMO, he took Cotto`s best body shots, enough said, he can handle the weight fine. He`s no small, weak little man at 147, dont kid yourselves.

he can look great against WW's but if he is weighing 144 without even cutting weight then he could easily cut 4 lbs and look even better against guys who are 1 full division smaller than the Welters.

True, but surely thats why you like Pac, because he is fighting at WW rather than drop down & steamroll the 140 lbers that I give zero chance vs Pac.

A 2 rd demolishion of Hatton isnt enough evidence to say Pac is better at 140 than 147, his speed & movement looked the same to me, he`s a freak.

Ps. the `size` will not be a deciding factor in a Floyd-Pac fight, please dont try go there if thats where you are heading, Popkins.

Doubt he can make Lightweight without the weight effecting him. It is clear he has added muscle...that should give a clear idea of why he shouldn't even attempt to make 135lbs.

Were not saying he's a weak little man at WW. Im saying that he is so good, the weight doesnt really matter at the moment. Lets face it, if Margo was the same size as Pac, the odds will be 50-1 instead of 6-1 in Pac's favour. The odds are closer because he is fighting bigger opponents.

He can fight at WW, but if we are talking best weight, its 140. Its simple logic, he retains all his speed, power, strength and his opponent wont have the advantage of being bigger. If you think he looks dominant at WW, I think he would be even more dominant at 140.

He would look better because he is fighting 135 lbers as opposed to 147 lbers, not because he himself is more formidable or more effective at 135 than 147.

He is taking on challenges, thats why I like him. However if Bradley was to establish himself as top dog at JWW, specially if he beats Alexander & Khan, I would love to see Pac-Bradley at 140.

Right now Floyd fights at 147, Id rather Pac stay and be used to 147 so when that fight happens, their both well accustomed to the weight.

Unfortunately for Pacquiao, the biggest money match that could make the most money at 140 is Khan, and we all know that won't happen. Nobody else at 140 has the name value to compliment Manny, although it's not like the general public knew who Joshua Clottey was, either.

Anything's possible, and he's definitely better suited for 135 and 140. Freddie Roach himself has said that, and that Manny has to constantly eat to maintain weight because he's naturally much smaller. His only fight at 135, he weighed 134, and his only fight at 140 he weighed 138.5. That tells the tale right there.

He could probably make lightweight and kick ass, but his best weights is probably 140 where he still wouldn´t need to cut weight and in peak physical condition.

Yes he could fight LW, but why go back down if you've been beating guys in a higher division?

And the primary reason for Pac being better at 140 than 147 is due to his opponent, not Pac being less of a fighter at 147. He`s the same fighter at both weights in all probability its just the 140 lbers will cave in faster & easier to Pac`s power & speed than at 147.
Pac himself loses nothing physically from 140-147. Thats all Im saying.

    same for any fighter.

Cotto looks better at 154 than at 160 because he is fighting 154lbers as opposed to 160lbers, not because he himself is more formidable or more effective at 154 than 160.

Tim Bradley looks better at 140 than at 147 because he is fighting 140lbers as opposed to 147lbers, not because he himself is more formidable or more effective at 140 than 147.

and on and on. It's the same for every single fighter. Pac would look better at a lower weight. He is not fighting at his best weight class.
