Rey Colón of the ´El Vocero´ of Puerto Rico reported that the welterweight mega-fight between Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto generated approximately 2 million pay-per-view buys generating at least $120 million. No word on what Pacquiao´s cut will be but Cotto was mentioned to be making at least $10 million minimum.

got this from the news that reports fights

oscar-trinidad made some 1.25M buys before so it would be a big surprise if this fight surpassed it.

"In an overseas telephone call with Dennis Principe for Tempo, Arum once again shed some light on what numbers he expects the Pay-Per-View pulled in. First Arum denied the internet reports that the HBO Pay-Per-View telecast may have reach the $2 million dollar mark."

"In terms of what Arum is expecting the numbers to be, Arum told Principe: "I think there's a good chance its going to be a million three (1.3 million PPV buys) to a million four (1.4 million PPV buys) which is still great.”"

Actually, it would surprise me only for the fact that Mayweather/Marquez was not too long ago. However, today, PPVs should be selling more (for big fights like these), especially considering larger audience of today to purchase ppv and advancements in home entertainment telivision, as well as promotional dollars invested in the fight (24/7).
