  1. Mosley-Margarito

    - Margarito killed himself to make weight
    - Margarito entered the ring after being busted for loaded wraps
    - Margarito was knocked out, but never truly hurt
    - Margarito had a teeny tiny cut and very little swelling
    - Margarito went down on exhaustion
    - Margarito was smiling gingerly afterwards
    - Margarito attended the post fight conference and spoke with Mosley

    Pacquiao-Margarito

    - Margarito showed up to the fight in supreme condition
    - Margarito showed up on fight night 17 pounds heavier
    - Margarito's supreme conditioning allowed him to go the full 12 rounds
    - Margarito was SPARED a KO loss by a classy Pac
    - Margarito's eyes were nearly swollen shut
    - Margarito's eye socket was shattered
    - Margarito no show @ the post fight conference to go to hospital
    - Margarito now needs surgery

Please tell explain to me how . . .

A smiling and embarrassed Margarito at the post fight conference is > a deformed Margarito whose ethnicity changed over the course of 36 minutes and was rushed to the hospital and now requires reconstructive surgery?

I love Manny Pacman, but sometimes after he fights people get a little ridiculous and overrate him. Why not just rank him the best ever ATG right now because he beat Margarito.

  7. Overrate?

Pacquiao DESTROYED (not merely beat) a guy that before the fight was probably in the best physical shape of ANY boxer/many athletes and came into the ring weighing 17 pounds more.

Then you add in the fact that Pac lost power swinging towards the heavens to connect with Margarito's face and it's even more impressive.

Another virtuoso performance by Pac. Definitely his second greatest win, if not the best.

Doesn't matter what condition Margarita was in. He didn't have his crutch.

Yes. No excuses. They talked Margo up to be in the best shape of his life. And pac murdered him.

Another thing. Margarito is nothing without loaded gloves. Since they were exposed hes been destroyed twice.

Look I like your admiration of Pacman, but if you look at this fight and all the fighters that Pacman fought his last 5 fights or so. Delahoya,Hatton,Cotto,Clottey,Margarito, they all had a loss one or two fights before they fought him. Hatton, Cotto and Margarito were knocked out in those fights. And none of the guys he fought have good right hands, which would take away his jumping inside and outside with those punches. These are good wins, but not really as great as what you are making them. Margarito was worn out and was never a great fighter. Look at a fight like say when Spinks fought Holmes. Holmes is a champion and undefeated and at a weight class 30 pounds above where Spinks normally fought, and Spinks beats him. That is a great great win. Hearns beat Virgil Hill who was undefeated and had 10 title defenses at 175 pounds, 30 pounds above where Tommy first won a title. And the lists go on and on. I like Manny, but this overrating stuff a day later is ridiculous. There are facts here.

The best version of Margarito was the Margarito that walked through walls to beat Cotto.

Margarito was in great shape against Pacquiao, and put on a better show than I thought he would (only slightly)...but it wasn't the best version of Margarito.

    Best shape? Possibly.
    Best version? No.
