Pac did not deserve credit for winning a title at 145 lbs

the guy gets a lot of credit for demolishing Cotto like he did but no credit for winning a world title at a catchweight

 

honestly I didn't like the catch weight initially, but seeing how strong Cotto started and how obvious it was that it wasn't weight drain that caused Cotto to fade but the constant punishment from Pac, I really do think now it was a good win and that he deserved the title (in hindsight at least).

 

Crazy.. Cotto was in great shape. Cotto was taggin manny up in the 1st rnd and parts of the first 1/4th of the fight. Cotto even looked faster than manny, just listen to the HBO crew when they were saying that Manny hasn't fought a fighter like cotto in a long time. Starting with the end of the 2nd round onward.. Manny started to time his jab by going over the top of cottos jab with his own right. Then Manny would start throwing some combinations.. knocked Cotto down twice. Eating Cotto's shots like skittles. Cotto didn't know what else to do. Manny was just too fast and powerful for him and it showed. Cotto was backpeddling the last 4 or so rounds.. and cotto is one of my favorite fighters.

 

Fine, ignore the belt, recognise he beat a quality opponent way above his own weight.
