Other than the money he will make from the actual fight, Pac is not coming out of this fight a big winner, even if he destroys Hatton. Sure he will win a linear title but the thing is Hatton is expected to lose. Its kind of like Floyd beating Baldomir. Though Hatton is obviously not on the Baldomir level, he is not an elite fighter either. A loss to Hatton would be devastating for Pac's career, while a win would be good but nothing spectacular. I mean PBF has been there, done that. And Pac is already one step ahead of PBF

Hatton on the other hand if he beats Pac, the world is his oyster. If he loses, his fans will still be his fans and he can still make lots of money. As they have demonstrated in the past, the brits are loyal to him regardless of how he performs.

From Pac's point of view, fighting Hatton is not really a necessity, in fact its not even that desirable.

Beating the linear champion at 140 would be quite a lot to gain come legacy time. Also being part of the biggest fight of the year, and getting paid a **** load for it, isn't half bad either.

Beating Hatton at 140 and earning more money than he could possibly fighting anyone (Not retired)

I also find the thread starter calling Hatton not elite is bait.

he would be a massive fight and it would hold good weight come legacy checking time like theGoldenHoya said but to be totaly honest i think a fight with mayweather would realy the BIG ONE! for sure

and if marquez can can 2 more big wins at lightweight against diaz then nate
PAC V JMM has to happen as both the fighters retirment fight.

then my friend you have an amazing legacy

I believe that if you make a poll asking if Hatton is an elite fighter today about 70% will say no.

    what are you talking about?

hatton is the #1 guy at his weight class right now.... what bigger fish is there to fry for pacman right now ?

margarito & cotto are to big
    floyd is chillin
he already beat jmm & other big dogs under 140
hatton is probably the biggest & releastic (winable) fight pac could take right now

and if he wins like someone above me said it would be big for the resume

    Co-SIgned.

How beating the linear champion of this weight class and getting big bucks to do it can be considered "not much to gain" :huh

Its not even a ****ing debate, who ever says he's not is just a plain idiot.

that means theres only about 9 or 10 fighters in the world who are 'elite'?

    Bull****
