JMM and fans will not admit it, even foolish enough to say he should have won by a large margin! tsk tsk..atleast the huggers will admit it being a close fight that could've have gone either way(preferrably for Pac) . It was a draw in the first fight, and Pac won the 2nd! It has been argued million times and both parties will stick to their positions. Nobody wins, and the official record will provide.

I dont get the mentality behind that though. Even if you think Pac lost, Ali lost to Frazier & Norton, does that make him less of a fighter? MAB lost to Junior Jones twice but he sure as hell is a better fighter than Jones. I scored the first fight for Pac & the 2nd fight a draw.

    Team Barrera ?

    Dont make me laugh, please.
Team Barrera & Marco himself also felt they won Junior Jones 2, Morales 2 & Pacquiao 2.... Does that make them right ? NO.

They are never gonna admit that they think their fighter lost & neither is that fighter going to admit it as long as they were at least in the fight.

MAB & his team were always dishonest, remember Team Barrera jumping thru the ropes into the ring knowing that MAB would be `officially` DQd on the record books rather than the reality which everybody knows, that he was TKOd in the 1st Jones fight... they tried the same thing in the 1st Pacquiao fight too but gladly the ref beat them to it & awarded Pac the TKO - They will tell you that their hearts ruled their head & they only had MABs safety in mind but everyone knows that throwing in the towel will get the fight stopped by the ref more quickly than 2 or 3 fat pricks taking forever to climb thru the ropes... they were only interested in protecting MABs record from having a TKO engraved on it... end of.
Team Barrera`s credibility is 0 in my book.

Anyway... Back to the point of the thread.... I actually had Pac edging the 1st fight & JMM edging the 2nd fight.

    It should be 1-1 IMO.

    Both close fights.

The point of this thread wasnt to say JMM won clearly because he didnt, I thought he won 7-5 with the KD making it a 1 point win for JMM.
The point was to say that I personally have never seen Pacman as this sports no1 fighter & the JMM fight proved that, he also didnt look that great vs MAB but I do feel Pac won that fight.

I hate Mayweather but never once denied him as the best p4p because I felt that he was the best despite being a *****.

I like Pac as a fighter but dont feel he deserves to be ranked no1 p4p.

    :thumbsup

Fighters are based on their overall ability as a fighter, not on who they lost to. As it is, Pac has accomplished alot more than JMM and their common opponent, MAB, Pac looked alot more impressive against. Therefore he is the better overall fighter. Styles makes fights and it just so happens JMM style is a nightmare for Pac. Shane Mosley is still a better overall fighter than Vernon Forrest despite loosing to him.

The HBO team also felt MAB won, I thought it was a very close fight. The judges just so happened to go with JMM crispier shots which looked easier on the eyes, doesnt mean they were anymore effective.

I dont see how that is relevant? Pac is fighting the best out there and getting a close fight. PBF had a close fight with Oscar too and had he fought Cotto, that may be very close too. Too much stock is put on undefeated records, what if a Hearns or SRL was around PBF's era, would he seem as unbeatable then? Simply put, you can be the best fighter around despite being beatable, because someone out there may just have your number yet others may have their number. You could say JMM beat Pac so he should be #1, but Chris John beat JMM so he should be one??? Your making out like a fighter has to seem invincible in order to be #1, no one is invincible, Not PBF, SRR, or SRL...

No, he certainly did not. Neither time. I make him 0-1-1 at best.

the thread starter asked "Pac fans" not Pac haters. I know aot of the calzaghe nuthuggers have their own agenda for descrediting Pac. Its the same agenda alot of Pachuggers descredited PBF when he was around. One is just behind the other trying to jump to the top spot.

    Where are the haters?

Pretty pointless asking Pac fans ain't it? They think he's the greatest of all-time, how likely to you propose it is they actually admit to the little gift he got from Mr. Ford and co?

He lost. There is no agenda, no nothing, he just lost more rounds than he won, and even the knockdowns which Pacquiao fans believe signals the end of a fight didn't make up the difference.

Funny that, go make yoru own thread asking "pac haters, do you think Pac really beat JMM"? Because from pac haters like you, there is only one simple answer to the question.

Oh, The judges obviously disagreed with you and I think their opinion matters more :)

Sorry boy, Calzaghe has to keep trailing behind, soon Cotto may overtake him too. No amount of descrediting Pac will push Joe above him.

I thought Pac won a close decision, like the first one which was admittedly incorrectly ruled a draw.

That said, they need to do it a third time. Marquez deserves another shot and the fans deserve another great fight.

I'm not really fussed if Calzaghe goes above him by consensus. Calzaghe will retire soon anyway, so its neither here nor there.

Pacquiao-Marquez has nothing to do with Calzaghe, a bad decision is a bad decision. Or decisions in this case.

Id fancy Pac vs JMM in a fight at 135 but that still doesnt mean he won at 130 last time they fought.

Pac should WANT to fight Marquez again to try prove some kind, ANY kind of superiority but the fight probably wont happen until JMM is way too old. That might hurt Pac`s legacy in the long run if they dont fight VERY soon.
The longer it goes, the less people will want to see it because of the age difference.

They should both fight each other NEXT (well, after the JMM Casa fight actually), do it for the fans & themselves.

And I say, a good decision is a good decision. Or decisions in this case. Unfortunately though, we can disagree forever but the judges and the record books will see it one way.

Most thought Castillo beat Mayweather...is that saying PBF isnt deserving of no.1 status having lost a fight to Castillo? You know what, in a close fight like that, only one opinion matters and thats the opinion the records books will stick with.

Agreed. I, myself had the fight scored 114-113 for Pac.. It was a close enough fight that people could have scored the fight for either.. Some people who say JMM won claim that he won it clearly and that it was a robbery (may be the wrong word) or whatever.. I don't have any problems with people scoring the fight for JMM as I said it was extremely close, but for people to bash on other people for saying Pac won is idiotic..

I would love to see a third fight between these two at 135 to complete their trilogy.. I'm not making any excuses or anything, but Pac did have to starve himself for his last fight with JMM and packed on 16 ****in' pounds overnight, causing him to be sluggish at times or become tired quickly.. I think Pac can win against JMM a lot more impressively now at 135.. Pac still has his power, speed, and he seems a lot more comfortable at this weight now while JMM could probably still drain to 126 to fight.. How will JMM fare at 135? We'll see in September..
