Pac fans-"really" how good is floyd mayweather jr?

most pac fans have probably only seen highlight videos of floyd shoulder rolling and slipping punches. most floyd fans have probably only seen pacquiao's hatton knockout. some floyd fans at my gym were talking about floyd-pac after floyd fought marquez and they didn't even know pac fought marquez at all. they also didn't know roy jones jr beat antonio tarver.

 

He's the best defensive fighter currently active in boxing.

Depends how you look at it. If you are straight in your thinking and not a nut-hugger, you know Cotto, Mosley, Margarito and Williams would have beat all his opposition from 140 onwards. Probably even the Clottey's and the Collazo's only lose to one of them at the most.

i agree. i'd like to see him win a belt and defend it for a few years (if possible) before even considering him an ATG.

 

Floyd is good enough to be second best of this generation of fighters... Nobody considers Floyd the best of this generation anymore, which is why he came back and so many Floyd fans hate Pacman for stealing the thunder... Floyd has been consistently top notch for the past ten years, faced top opposition, moved up and captured multiple division gold....

Pac was unknown in the U.S. til about ten years ago, no amateur background, no fights in U.S., but already a world linear champion in the low weights... He was good, then very good, now great and beyond.... He has done the unbelievable and that's what sets them apart.... No other fighter can I think of who 2 years ago would have been laughed at for contemplating his last four fights... Then not only signs these fights but barely loses a round and stops three of them.... Not only that he did this but he has been DOMINANT in his explosion to the higher weight classes.....

When someone defies all odds and does something believed unattainable they are perceived great.... You can say both guys are great but one star has shined brighter than the other.... Maybe Floyd can catch up, but to me he'll need to be fighting the Martinez', Pav's, and Williams....
