The only people who are trying to make it funny are those who think Marquez won both fights. The first should have been a split decision and the second was a clear win because I don't see big W in JMM's record

No. If Marquez didn't go down with both feet up in the air, he would have won via split decision. But he did. He held on to the ropes at the same time when he got up. Pacquiao was robbed in the first fight. Even the judge that made the error admitted it.

And the ref called that knockdown a slip. I guess he did slip. After catching that right hand with his face.

Pacquiao Brawls to Draw with Marquez
    Tuesday May 11, 2004

Manny Pacquiao knocked Juan Manuel Marquez down three times in the first round of their featherweight title bout. Nevertheless, Marquez refused to surrender and his tremendous effort - as well as some curious scoring - allowed him to retain his championship belts. The judges had it 115-110 for Marquez, 115-110 for Pacquiao and 113-113. As if the discrepancy in the scorecards didn't generate enough controversy, the judge who saw the fight even later admitted making a scoring mistake in the first round. Burt Clements scored the round 10-7 for Pacquiao (the other two judges scored it 10-6). Had Clements scored it 10-6, as he later said he should have given the three knockdowns, Pacquiao would have won. Another fight, another demonstration of incompetence by a judge. What else is new? The good news ... the draw sets up a rematch which could prove every bit as good as the first fight.

    Figure that one out.

^ Nah man. I can handle this. They can tag team all they want. It's still true that they are denying the obvious.

Marquez is an awesome fighter. But most of his most hardcore fans are just as biased. Many of his supposed fans are just fans because he's the only one who hasn't been completely destroyed by Pacquiao in a while and they can cling to him for that. He fought a great fight and came close to beating him, many unbiased fans think he did (at least in one fight).

Just cause he got close Pacquiao's haters will swear up and down he beat him. Had the tables been turned, lets say they both fought each others fight, and Marquez ended up with the SD, it would be same thing, JMM fans pointing at the SD, the uncalled knockdown, etc, etc.

The third should happen but what for? Pac's got everything to lose. Marquez is supposed to be a grandfather if he ever fights Pacquiao, he will get zero credit for beating him. While if Marquez beats him, he's the man cause he's old. Pac seems to be the only fighter that should be totally unaffected by his wars in the ring. The rest get a pass.

This is not only with Pacquiao though, it's the same dumb argument for many fighters but multiplied x 10 because of his status now.
