Pac -Floyd comes down to how you like to score it.

I was looking over the compubox statistics for Pacquiao and Floyds last few fights- and without getting a calculator out-
Floyd tends to throw around 45 punches a round- landing 25 or so
Pac will throw around 95 a round and land about 30.

of course im not being accurate by any means here- i ve done the sums quickly in my head, but what i think the fight last nite showed us and these numbers show, is that these guys fight the way they fight- they dont really change up from these stats. the thing is that against floyd- pac would probably land and throw at about the same rate- being that floyd nowadays prefers to use his upper body and roll defence- rather than move his feet and evade.

    so...
after thinking and thinking and thinking about it

that if pac and floyd stay true to form:

    - that each man will probably land a similar amount of punches on one another
    - but with floyd more likely to land slightly more- and to have the clearer, cleaner shots. ( as clottey did last nite- but with more control of the tempo)
    - but pac will have far more activity and aggression.
    - pac will land more power shots- as he tends to throw nothing but power.

what im getting at - is that i think that the fight will come down to how you like to score your fights- with more clean crisp punching- or with active aggression and activity and workrate. I see pacquiao landing as he did against clottey- frequent but never quite clean. pacquaio showed when he is countered he is liable to get hit hard and crisp.

either way- i guess what im saying in a long winded fashion- is that it will be controversial without a ko. i think it will come down to who controls tempo- and who has the illusion of control in the fight. they both fight at their own pace- and whomever forces the other to match that pace i think will win the judges favour.

    let the abuse begin....

i think a similar comparison will be the hagler leonard fight- where people are still debating to this day who won.

i think floyd would do well to take a page out of sugars book and steal rounds and showboat, and i think pac would do well to take a page out of marvins book- and NOT allow floyd to steal rounds ...

i think its unlikely either of these men knock each other out- seriously now. as much as we wanna see it- how often does floyd get tagged- and his defence is much much itghter than clotteys.

    i agree

there has been a recent trend to reward work rate, regardless of effectiveness

and we have seen some really terrible score cards over the last 2 years, so IF pac/floyd fight, and IF it isn't obviously one-sided, and IF there isn't a KO, then yeah, gonna be a mess

PAC will KO Floyd. PAC has flaws in his defense, but he will be able to overwhelm floyd with combos and flurries while Floyd responds with 1 and 2 punches at a time. Floyd doesn't have the power to keep Manny off of him. Floyd will be hit much more in this fight than he has been in any other fight. Judah troubled Floyd with his speed and Pac has more power and throws many more punches. Also PAC does not have the stamina issues Judah has. If Judah had kept throwing puches in that fight he would have beaten Floyd. Mosley is actually the tougher and more exciting fight as it will be a brawl with constant exchanges back and forth and Shane has the power to KO PAC.

I think Pac will knock out Mosley. It will be a touch fight for Floyd now day since Pac. is so confident.

i agree that shane and pac is the most exciting fight that can be made.

if floyd beats shane- but cant come to terms with pac, and if shane is competitive against floyd- and its close- then i still would prefer shane and pac to face off- rather than to go thru another 3 -4 months of back and forth betwen pac and floyd in the media. this time they each will have fewer options- but **** going thru that again.

Pacquiao will throw a lot more and by pure valume of his punches will land more than Mayweather who will land more acaurtely. Pacquiao will land most of his punches early in the fight. Mayweather will spreed his out a little more evenly. The result will be win for Mayweather.

Because these two are so great at what they do and their skills are right now a cut above everyone elses...this fight will be about who executes better who can play chess better...this fight will be more about mentall capacity rather than being so heavily based on their physical attributes...because both fighters have things to negate each other...someone will have to be smart and outhink the other in the ring...setting up shots, traps, forcing pace....etc...

Advantage Floyd in this department for me.

    Floyd UD

  9. its easy to score a knockout mu****a. Floyd is gonna drop this pinoy easily.

You forgot to mention that Floyd's opponents usually end up throwing less than they typically.

Yeah 'cause Floyd has such a high KO ratio during the last four years .(one out of five, or 20 %, and he needed the help of a corner post for that one KO).

During the same period, Pac has scored 6 out of 11 KOs, or 55%,

    Dream on.

This goes to the judges, or Floyd gets carried out.

No one is disputing Pacquiao's punching ability. It has nothing to do with the potential for Floyd to knock Pacquiao down and/or out, though.
