It seems that this forum has become inundated with fan-boys alleging their fighter is more shot than the other guy, as a defence mechanism in case their guy loses. Annoying.
Blame Floyd, he could've made the fight when they were both in their prime and even a year or two after that initial breakdown, there was no question of either fighter being shot back then. Instead we had to wait until they were both past prime and Floyd was forced into it by a CBS executive.
I don't care who is shot more, they are both not prime, by a long shot. This fight was full of meaning in 2009-2010. Now it is just a cash fight. I will of course enjoy watching how it will play out, but is it meaningful towards who is the better fighter in their primes? Barely to not at all. You can be annoyed all you want, but that is how I see it.
Another month of "Roach said Floyd is shot and his legs are gone" and "Manny legs cramps will debilitate him" etc etc etc Awesome
I'm probably not even going to stay up to watch it, it'll be on at 4am or 5am in the UK. It's not that event for me anymore, they're really the past at this point, they're taking this cash-out fight as they're winding down their careers. I want to see Kovalev, Matthysse, Thurman, Golovkin, Khytrov...the next gen of exciting fighters.
I dont care how past their prime people believe they are, they are still UNDOUBTEDLY the 2 best WW's in the world, and possibly the top 2 p4p fighters on the planet. On top of being the 2 stand out fighters of their generation. If that doesnt get peoples juices flowing, nothing will
I feel the same way. This is just another fight for me, they had the chance to fight when it mattered and when I was willing to pay stupid money to watch it. Whatever the result it will not in anyway reflect as to who was superior 4-5 years ago when the fight really mattered. Mayweather no longer moves as well, Pac no longer fights at the same intensity and hasn't stopped an opponent in years. The fact they are debating who is most shot is just further proof that this fights significance has been tarnished.
Lots of new accounts/alt accounts/previously inactive accounts seem to have appeared on the forum too since the fight got made
Undoubtedly? There are plenty of doubts. A lot of people think Thurman would beat both (Paulie's view) and lot of people think Brook beats Thurman and even that Khan beats Floyd. Fairly sure a lot would pick Marquez to beat Pac again too. Floyd and Pacquiao hold the top spots on paper, but the gap to the rest isn't so big anymore if it even exists at all. They're the best of their generation granted, trouble is it's the last generation, not this one and that's the problem with this bout, it should've happened years ago.
