Why do so many fighters get caught then?

Lol, you misunderstood. If the doctor/tester had trouble getting blood from him and the many attempts caused bruising/swelling in the bend of the elbow, then that could make extending the arm (ie, punching) more uncomfortable/restricted.

I'm not saying that is the case, i'm just stating that it could be a reason. Some people really don't give blood easily. That said, as an athlete he should have veins popping out everywhere so it shouldn't be an issue.

How often do fighters actually get tested? It's not done to much in Australia.

maybe they get caught because the test is done out of the blue

There's been plenty of high profile fighters getting caught on an international level in the recent past. Australia, none, because as far as I'm aware they don't test for it. But it is in the rules to do so.

I really wish they'd have a world wide policy that is enforced in each country. In a sport that where hard, working class kids can really thrive (and has its fair share of shady characters hanging around the fighters) it would be easy for a bloke to take the easy option if he knew he wouldn't be tested.

Just read another article on the general forum where Roach says Pac is happy to do the test as close as 3 days out from the fight, just not the day before, possibly because he gave a sample the day before he lost to Morales and may be superstitious about that sort of thing. It's a beat up really, all part of the hype for the fight.

Thing is, it's Pac's right to refuse this testing because it isn't a part of the commission's legislation - standard testing is, and he will comply with that. Basically, the Mayweathers and associated scum have accused him of using PEDs because he's slaughtered 2 of Floyd's recent opponents and danced rings around Cotto, and they're in mud-slinging mode.

The commission hasn't ordered Pac to take these Olympic-style drug tests, so at the end of the day, while it might look like he's hiding something, Manny is within his rights to refuse to take them.

I dont like roach , he wants to talk about who runs boxing - fighters or commissions but in the next breath wants to fight for a WELTERWEIGHT title and make the champ come in at 145... who made that rule?

I think it should be mandatory in sports such as boxing, In the lead up to fights Fighters should be able to be tested by the commission. It is the only way that they can stamp out the use of Steriods.

It dosn't look good from the Pac camp if he refuses, Whether he is innocent or not.
