Something just tells me the people in charge want this fight to sell through the roof. Remember when Leonard had Hagler come and watch him retire when he thought he was going to get the fight. Well Pac and Floyd were close to a dealk and then like Leonard they teased us. Well Leonard Hagler went on latrer down the road but it happened. Something tells me this is all bull**** just to get them in the ring and maximize the drama and hype. Floyd learned a little something from the WWE.
Of course, the difference is that Leonard had no intention of fighting Hagler at that juncture. He'd had the detatched retina and felt that Hagler was a much bigger man. It was only after a long rest and Hagler's slowing down that he thought it was winnable. Manny's gone on to another tough fight, while Mayweather's doing **** all. There's no injuries, no significant size issues and no reason to not have the fight. So, vis-a-vis: Leonard was retiring, Floyd's just a coward.
For a second I thought you meant that the better fighter was going to get stiffed by the judges to preserve a show pony's reputation.
