I didn't want the Clottey fight nor the Margo fight. Nor the Cotto fight at 145.

That's the most astonishing thing when you step back and look at the bigger picture.

At a time when Floyd Mayweather was on top of the world, the public was yearning for him to face the likes of Margarito and Cotto. Right there, Floyd had the chance to enhance his resume/legacy by simply facing and beating them. Instead he chooses to sit back, fall into temporary retirement, and allow Pacquiao to enter the scene and claim the scalps of the men who he refused to face. And he wonders why Pacquiao is regarded the greatest fighter of his generation?

is what i'm saying. we know floyd can beat cotto or margo at that time, still i would have wanted to see that. instead of going into phony retirement or taking a vacation, why not just beat the guys you can beat?

Give Floyd credit for dominating Mosley, who was the best welterweight at the time. He could have chose to fight Berto instead.

Bull****. We wanted to see Pac fight Mosley and the peoples chump ducked him. We want to see him fight Mayweather as well. Now keep in mind this is the same dude who talks about giving the people what they want. Well, we want him to take the dame drug test, so he can be finally be exposed for the lack of talent that he haves. The only reason why he's lasted this long as the so call #1 p4p, is because he has not fought Floyd yet. I will be the first to give Pac his just due if he beats Floyd because he would have earned that much from all his doubters. But he has to stop his BS games and step to the plate first.

The answer is obvious, if Pac/Floyd doesnt happen then the title of greatest boxer of this era is going to come down to public opinion.

2-3 years ago Floyd looked like he had that in the bag and all the fuss about PEDs was likely just a PR move to keep that title without having to fight Manny. Now though Manny accepting his terms and winning a number of big fights in exciting fashion has clearly turned the majority of public opinion in his favour. Floyds fans are bashing him in a vain atempt to try and go agenst that.

I have to admit it. I really wanted to see Pac vs Barrera 2 and Pac vs Diaz... rather than rematching Marquez.. I understand Pac had a holy destiny and had to make a pilgrimage up-stream against the current with his countrymen on his back to his journey to defeat all of top ranks finest fighters. What a voyage.. what a voyage. All of the fights we wanted, when we wanted. Pac is no ordinary selfish man.

But in reality world, Pacquiao has been fighting in a state with no drug tests. We seen Floyd get tested up until a 14 day cut off at least and he still looked like the regular Floyd. One guy goes beyond the status quo. The other guy takes the lowest possible road of fighting in a state that has little regulation. Go figure.

this one he gets credit. Its too late for any other welters though they have been taken down. Welters worth fighting that is.

Now if only Pac continues a bit longer and gives great matches against: PW, Bradley, PBF, JMM3 and possibly Martinez or Khan. I'd be ready to buy all these ppv's. Probably asking too much, but I don't see why Manny can't continue to fight at a dominating level for 2-3 more years since he's just 31 and this would be enough time to fit all these in. I don't understand all the people wanting him to retire. He puts on a great show every time he fights and is great for boxing.

Well said this is my point all along.

We wanted PBF to fight the big fights he never did.

Yet Pac does it and he wins well and then comes the hate.

Do you think because he is not American it makes a difference.

    I do.

My preference would have been that he had done that.

Fight fans? You speak for everyone? None of his matches since super featherweight have been dreams of mine.
