JMM might demand 4 million just fighting manny. he will probably demand the bigger share of the prize money because he holds the belt (which is the reason why Pacman refuse as mandatory challenger).

JMM combined prize money since PAC fight coud be somewhere around 300,000 dollars (not including MAB fight). The John fight was 30,000 dollars, the Jaca fight probably around 50,000; the Salid, Polo, Jandaeng fights would probably be around that ballpark. Considering that his richest payday was probably JMM-MP fight prior to the MAB fght(about750,000 dollrs), the rationale why he refused the rematched is beyond my understanding (it is because it would take me a lifetime to earn less than half that amount). Considering that many pundits claimed JMM "schooled" Pacman. The prize of 100,000 dollars more than the first fight may not be much (relative to what?) but it is astronomical if you consider that the combined purse of his next 5 fights (against Salido, Jaca, jandaeng, Polo and John) would probably be not half that amount.

 

this is exactly what i've been talking about forthe last few days. we want pac-jmm to happen but it is highly unlikely that it ever will. one of them should eat humble pie but it is pretty clear that no one would. it's pretty obvious that both of them will demand a 60-40 split

 

From what I understand, Nacho Beristein just did'nt trust Bob Arum, and he had good reason not to.

Beristein has put his trust in GBP, so I dont think it will be that big of a problem for GBP and Bob Arum to come to a compromise and make the JMM-Pac fight happen, (that is if Freddie Roach and Bob Arum allow)
neither are anxious to have Pac face JMM next.

I'd think that a 55-45 split in favor of Pac would be fair, but GBP just might have to settle for 60-40 if they want the fight to happen.

Beristein has to say yes, he knows father time is on JMM's tail!

Btw, Pac deserves every penny he made for the MAB fight, unlike MAB, he showed up to fight!

yup, and much credit must go to pac, mab, em, and jmm for making the boxing world notice that great fights are posible at the lighter weights.

i too think that pac shouldtake the bigger piece of the pie. but doesn't the wbc enforce a ruling that their champion should always be the higher paid fighter when his title is on the line?

 

I dont know for certain, but there are exceptions for fighters who are have a strong fanbase and huge drawing power.

 

I don't think WBC will manifestly recognize those factors, but I rdad somewhere they were willing to have the WBC champ and Pac equal share of the purses.

Which I feel is one the reasons the JMM-Pac rematch will have a hard time materializing.

Maybe they ought to just throw out their belts and start to fight. It will still be a PPV event no matter!

 

Id seriously doubt that Mayorga made more than De LA Hoya for their fight :deal

Purses arent about belts these days. they re about who generates more $$$ which is the way it should be.
