People say this as evidence for his power declining, possibly because of getting off the juice, but let ****yze his record further. Both the Margarito and Algieri fights nearly everyone agrees should have been stopped. Margarito acquired a very serious injury that pretty much retired him. The Algieri fight could have been stopped a number of times, and the ref did step in the 9th only to change his mind. For the purposes of calculating knock out power, we can consider these fights de facto KOs. He failed to KO Clottey and Mosley, but they both parked the bus and shelled up to avoid damage. Neither man was interested in engaging, they just wanted to run down the clock and collect a pay check. It's incredibly hard to knock out larger opponents that fight this way. Marquez - has never been able to knock this guy out. Even in the lower divisions. Nevertheless, although he did perform poorly in III, he was closer than ever to KOing Marquez in IV. Rios: probably should have stopped this guy, but he was coming off a one punch KO and was cautious. Nevertheless he did lay out a serious beating. Bradley - The first fight with Bradley I thought was an underwhelming performance by pac. He looked content to outbox him for a decision. This was one fight where he demonstrated poor KO power. Conclusion: Pacquiao has had a few lax performances (Marquez III, Bradley I) but he has still demonstrated KO power in outings over the last few years. He's an undersized guy in an oversized division and has some natural decline with age, but he should have been awarded stoppages against Margarito and Algieri. His power hasn't declined substantially.
The floyidiots will come here talking about "Ariza shakes" but they keep forgetting that Mayweather must be on them now as well
since ariza took over as his sole conditioner to now, pac hasn't had a ko. ariza and his shakes are a fraud.
Here is the thing... even when he was supposedly on PEDs... you read what fighters say... they all say it wasn't the power that got them. It was the speed.
I have to admit I was surprised how good Pac looked in this last outing, I didn't think I would see him like that again.... he regained a few steps... but before the Al fight he was looking a few levels below his best.... the Pac of 08/09 I have no doubt would have made mincemeat out of Rios, and I think would have come very close to stopping Bradley if not outright doing so. So my reasoning as to why he hasn't stopped his opponents is that he has slipped quite a bit... he lost that 'special' factor, that extra decimal of speed, of torque, of form.... that took something away from his punches. In fact I actually cringed in moments of JMM3 and the Bradley fights as to how bad Pac looked at times compared to his prime. which I was pleasantly surprised that he gained some form back in his last fight (I would have said that without the KD's) I hope it continues. But yes, his opponents have something to do with it, of course. But most top tier fighters will be tough to stop that goes without saying. I think a prime pac rips Rios to shreds that is for certain.
he simply just lost his power you can look at his opponents as far back as 135 who said he does not hit THAT hard but its always been his speed
