If that was the case you think Bob Arum wouldn't mention it in every interview?

They show the fights for free then . . . so that figure is for all free viewers not PPV.

Arum did state before the initial counting was 825k buys in US...though they were expecting more than 300k in UK....

But that aint bad enough for an event that happened during recession and both fighters are not from US..:good

Ahh the days of big-time boxing on free TV. Benn and Eubank got 18 million on free TV in the UK for their rematch, even Froch vs Pascal last year got 5 million.

I'm kind of surprised at how low the UK PPV was, considering how big a hit Hatton seemed in Britain.

Would be interesting to know how many viewers 350k buys would equate to. It only seems 'low' in comparison to Hatton/Mayweather which was absolutely phenomenal. In any other context 350,000 buys at 15 quid for an event happening at 4am is pretty stellar...

Or Mayweather sold the fight better than Pac did in the UK.

I think Floyd/JMM won't even get close to those numbers.

Hasn't floyd only sold about 3,000 tickets for the fight. With his PPV's for this fight he's gonna be right when says PAC doesn't deserve 50-50. Pac deserve 70-30 :lol:

That was obviously a factor in it but the Mayweather fight was huge over here because it had all the right ingredients, good vs bad, UK vs USA. Say what you want about Mayweather but he plays a good villain and this is an entertainment sport and he does entertain you(at least before he steps in the ring as a welter).

It gets people up for the fight when they are in each others faces.
