I agree. It is a close call. Pac-Hatton is a big fight.

    right, im just saying.

while hatton-pacquiao is a huge fight, the combination of the mexican and american fighter on a pbf-jmm card would be huge in the u.s., simply for the fact that jmm is really the only mexican boxer on top that the mexican population in the u.s. can latch onto.

The mexican fanbase cant generate that much. Where was this new found huge mexican fan base when JMM fought Casa which did less than 100k buys or when he fought Juan Diaz?

MAB-JMM did 225k, a few months later with MAB being perceived as veyr past it, Pac-MAB does 350k. Pac's circumstances has changed since then, JMM's hasnt...he is still as unknown to the mainstream fans as he was back then.

There's a reason JMM vs Juan Diaz was shown free and not on PPV.

This doesnt do anymore than 600k, 500k at most. If Hatton-PBF only did 800k in US, PBF-JMM will not do anywhere near that.

I think Pac-Hatton does better everywhere. Definitely internationally.

In the U.S. it would be closer, but, I just don't think JMM is a draw. I think Pac-Hatton will do somewhere around 600,000. I think Mayweather will carry the PPV and I would expect something in the 400,000 to maybe 500,000 range.

    For US: Mayweather - Marquez
    Internationally: Pac - Hatton

Id hope it would be the other way around but logically i think since JMM is from mexico and floyd is from the states they would be the bigger draw here.

Hatton & Pac has been the biggest draw's in US aside from pbf who is on their level and odlh...and neither are american.

Neither Hatton or pac is as big as mayweather in the US, you're crazy. Only people who know pac are the filipinos/Mexicans and I don't think I have ever talked to anyone who knew who Ricky Hatton was.

None of the fights JMM has been have generated as much interest as his fight with PBF will, including the pac fights.

Before DLH & Hatton, PBF numbers are around the same as Pac's, 300-400k each. Its only when they fought big names in ODLH & Hatton that they reached the mil mark, and after Pac beat ODLH he is now as big as PBF was when he fought Hatton.

Pac's not as big a name as PBF in the US, period. PBF has had the opportunity to go showcase his name on shows like Dancing with the Stars, Wrestlemania, he's in tv spots. Pacquiao has definitely garnered more mainstream attention, but he's simply not the celebrity Floyd has become in the US.

The mexican fanbase sold 20K tickets for JMM vs Juan Diaz. Not only that but unless I'm mistaken it was the 2nd highest viewed HBO WCB broadcast on the year so far (#1 being Margo/Mosley).

Not only that but we're talking about Pac being this tremendous draw but dig this action jackson, Pac vs David Diaz barely touched 225K on a relatively untouched saturday night. His highest fight outside of ODLH? JMM 2 for about 475K to 500K. JMM isn't an ungodly draw but then again neither is Manny. Nobody in the US is anymore. In comparison Floyd Mayweather JR against Carlos Baldimor did 350K buys.

So lets say the same 350K tune in for Floyd vs JMM, add in another potential 100K intrigued viewers from HBO 24/7 or HBO countdown. Add in say 25K who saw Floyd at Wrestlemania and liked him. Add in another 50K for those who are intriguined by Floyd Mayweather JRs comeback (because comeback fights are like sequels, guaranteed money), 45K who want to see Floyd Mayweather lose and then throw in whatever you feel the mexican populace is buying this fight (50K? 100K? either or) and you're looking at a projected what? 620-670K buys.

That's not even counting impulse buyers, kids spending summer vacation money they have, people brought in by casual marketing (flyers, posters, radio interviews), people who buy into the USA vs Mexico theme and bars and you could easily bump it to 700K.

You mean to tell me that Pac-Hatton will draw THAT exhorbitantly that it won't even be close. I'm not believing that.
