had more on his feet and had more stamina and looked a tad bit sharper. stylewise, he seemed to have done nothing different. at least from the outset that's what it looked like.

try watching the vids without knowledge of the numbers. i don't know if it's possible or if that will make any difference. the numbers give an explanation but should not be considered a be all and end all in discussions especially that a lot of intangibles are involved in fights.

 

According to the logic posed by the thread starter, Pacquiao deserves no credit for Morales III, Barrera II, Hatton, or Clottey because they fought like absolute garbage IN THE FIGHT, which is apparently all that matters to you. Mayweather's win over JMM is earth shaking, as he defeated P4P #2 and if you watch the fight, it is absolutely one sided and dominant. Martinez should get NO credit for KOing Williams because Williams was an idiot and left himself open like an idiot, therefore Martinez KO'd an idiot, no biggie. And no, not everyone picked de la Hoya to win, I know I did not.

well if the joyboys won't like to watch the video, roach has basically said that the oscar that he trained for the floyd fight could not pull the trigger anymore.

the thing is, the joyboys like to **** on this pac win thinking the oscar that pac fought was nothing but it was when oscar fought floyd that roach stated that "could not pull the trigger" quote.

do you want another fact? floyd was a favorite coming into the oscar fight while not too many thinks a 135 pacquiao could beat even this welterweight delahoya. even after the weigh-in, most people think that oscar would blast pacquiao and only after the victory we heard all these excuses that even ivan calderon can beat oscar that night.

the thing is, both have beaten a bad version of oscar but the thing with pac is he made it look easy while floyd struggled with the same version of a **** oscar even while pac moving up two weight divisions.

 

Mayweather was the heavy favorite in that fight, and I guess it doesnt matter to you that JMM was moving up two weight divisions and still got cheated on the scales.

Your comparing that to Martinez - Williams , two guys at the same weight in a pick-em fight pretty much. Oscar was the heavy, heavy favorite against Manny , it was considered a joke by almost everybody.

 

That's subjective. Mayweather had to use his elbows and needed the help of the ref to beat Hatton. Mayweather failed to convince the judges and that he won the fight against Hoya. How exactly is Mayweather's victory better than Pacquiao's?

 

No doubt Floyd fought the fresher Oscar, but Oscar style is more troubled by manny than it is Floyd.

Think of the the 3 guys that are considered manny's best performances and see their similarities: Barrera, Oscar, and Cotto. All flat footed guys that come forward with great jabs and left hook as the main kill punch. It's no secret that the recipe for success against manny is the str8 right hand AND jab. Those guys rights weren't so dope.

Oscar along with Cotto also have one of the worse stances I ever seen on an elite fighters. They square up and keep the head centered. This naturally presents a bigger target. manny throws a bunch of punches, so it's not hard to see why what happened happened.

 

De La Hoya's correct fighting weight at the time was 154 not 150 or 147. Regardless if he chose the 147 vs. Pacquiao. Money and ego make people do stupid things like fight at a weight they have no bussness being at.

How many times do i have to keep saying this? The reason many pick Oscar to beat Pacquiao is cause of SIZE ALONE!!! No one ever thought Oscar could kill himself to make weight.

It's simple and easy Floyd fought a much better healthy weight over 12 pounds more on fight night in De la hoya while Pacquiao fought a skinner dehydrated zombie De la hoya that weigh 147 pounds on fight night.

 

I think they are pursuing their Major in History.

it was the same oscar... pac was just beasting where as floyd was potshotting. I remember nacho said in an interview that it wasn't oscar's condition that lost him the fight... it was pac speed and style that troubled him the most.
