No version of Oscar could have beaten Pac. Oscar never had the style to beat a fighter like Pac. Oscar is at his best when he's fighting fighters who are slow on their feet. Without a proper right hand and slower feet, he wouldn't be able to beat Pac.

Have you read Oscar's book, he mentioned there are times he does not know what to do in a fight, he got confused.

 

Yep, I read his book. From what I remember, the only guy he easily gave credit to for "beating" him was Felix Strum.

I've said for years that DLH was one of the most overrated fighters in terms of boxing intelligence and the ability to make in ring adjustments in the history of the sport.
The media and the fans have often equated DLH to being a smart fighter, when everything points to him being smart in picking who and when to fight, but not really intelligent in the ring.

DLH's best wins were against smaller overmatched opposition not even coming within sniffing distance of that to be called great.

DLH failed and came up short everytime he stepped up to fight any fighter resembling elite.

.......and I agree with the *******s on this one, no version of DLH beats the Pacquiao he faced at 147 lbs and below.

Floyd got into Oscar's head very well during the build up of their fight. Oscar talks about how it's simply mentally exhausting to do a city tour promotion if you're doing one with Floyd.

He also claimed that Floyd's punches don't even hurt, and that his main reason for losing was due to a torn rotator cuff.

Oscar being the savvy businessman he is also claimed he could beat Floyd. I think he was trying to bait readers into buying a potential rematch.

Consensus was that the Pac vs Hatton fight would show whether Oscar was just **** in the Pac fight or if Pac was really that good. To quote Oscar after Pac whooped his ass "Hatton would've knocked me out". Well Pac beat Hatton even more easily than he beat Oscar

My ex watched a replay of De La Hoya and Pac and asked me if Oscar was on drugs as he entered the ring. I think that speaks volumes.

I was at "The World Awaits" and De La Hoya was full of energy (in the first half at least). He was springing in with lead hooks and combos - literally chasing Floyd out the ring.

De La Hoya was **** poor against Pacquiao and couldn't get off. That was due to weight loss, physiology and age. Pacquiao fans bigging up that victory make me cringe and I'm a huge fan of Manny.

Oscar in 2007 at HIS NATURAL WEIGHT was a vastly better fighter.

Another point to note is that for all everyone makes out as if Oscar was a horribly weight-weakened near-dead ghost of a skeleton in this fight, in the penultimate round he charges forward, lands a few bodyshots, and drives Pac to the ropes.

Someone who was dangerously dehydrated, severely weight-drained, and had taken a lot of punches/punishment, wouldn't be able to show that type of aggression at that stage.

It points to the fact that Oscar was physically OK, he just had hardly any opportunities to unload on Pacquiao because Pac was so much faster, so much fresher, so much busier, and on the night so much smarter.
