Nah man, but he might be able to edge himself out of the early 30s and into the late 20s.

In light of the above, if Floyd beats Pacman, where does he rank?

Sparring does not count, IMO. The atmosphere of sparring and fighting a real fight are not the same.

If Pac beats Mayweather he is the best of THIS ERA. That should be enough to crack the top 10 ATG. But, he has not accomplished enough in his career, nor will he, most likely, to surpass SRR. It's just not possible, unless people change their standards about what makes one the absolute best. The same goes for Floyd, IMO.

You still selling these title belts?? These belts are not relevant anymore!!!

How about 3 time fighter of the year, 4 Lineal belts, and The Fighter of the Decade award?? And maybe more!!!

I wouldn't say standards, more criteria. The thing is when comparing old school fighters to todays guys you have to have a different set of rules.
Todays fighters are never going to have 200+ fights so there has to be a way of finding common ground.

Otherwise NO-ONE from now till the end of time will ever surpass SRR and that to me is nonsense.

To those who say he would be in the top 20-30 if this occurs, I simply must cry haterdom.

Equally, getting to number 1... It's possible, but not given the simple meeting of the criterion offered by the OP. Pac would have to beat like every big name between 140 to 154 for that to happen, or move all the way to 160/168 or so and beat the lineal champions there. And even then, it's not certain.

Yes..."criteria" is the better word to use. That's what I meant actually. I agree, the fighters of today and yesterday, should be measured, based on some "common ground".

True...having 200 fights, as a pro, is not likely, in this era, or any future era. And while that was more common in SRR's era, I doubt if it was common to win roughly 90% of them, and over 1/2 of those victories coming by KO. That's why that achievement will stand the test of time, despite the "common ground" we seek to find, I think. And, it should, IMO. That is truly an amazing feat.

I agree, but the question has to be asked, by todays standards what is required to overtake SRR/Armstrong/Greb?

It's almost impossible to quantify multiple title wins, ko%, W-L record, top 5-10 contenders faced, catch weight fights, weight jumping, hof'ers/ATGs faced, styles faced etc.
Too much to work out here, think I'll leave it to someone else to formulate

I guess it's all a little futile really, it's all perception and the line between the top ATGs is so fine that a reasonable argument can be put forward in the ATG or P4P H2H sense. We've seen it before, for example Duran fans tearing down Leonards record and vice versa.
