Floyd is truly brilliant. Instead of running around the ring with Pac and gets criticized, he ran away from the fight like a scared chicken while trying to impress the world that he really wanted the fight!:yep

Of course, it does not compare to fighting with Floyd but Floyd may not even fight with Clottey.

 

I would give him props if Floyd agreed to fight Clottey.

 

Cherry picking my ass! Of all the welters available to fight, Clottey is the toughest assignment. The guy can't get fights to save his life, so how is it cherry picking if Pac AGREES to fight him? This is not Jesus Soto-Karras, Alphonso Gomez or Delvin Rodrigez for crying out loud(not bad fighters but not elite either). Pac would have been crucified for those picks much like Floyd is being for even considering Matthew Hatton, Nate Campbell, Timothy Bradley, or Paulie Malignaggi(not bad fighters but with the exception of Hatton, who is just plain mediocre, they'd all be at significant size disadvantages moving up in weight. Floyd will not drop to 140 for them....or even to a catchweight because we all saw what happened with the last time he did a catchweight)

What's sad is that in three fights at welterweight, Pac will have fought more legitimate welterweights than Floyd has in five fights and about fours years fighting there(I didn't count weight drained DLH for Pac) Only Floyd boys parked too close to Floyd's sack to see around it would have the nerve to call Clottey a cherry pick. He gave hell to Margarito and Cotto in competitive losses, two world class welter titlists that Floyd never faced.

At this rate I would prefer that if Floyd does fight soon it'd be against Jesus Soto-Karass or Gomez. At least they'd be legitimate welters. Kermit Cintron would be a good start for Floyd. A big welter who has fought above 147 on several occassions with enough power to make sure Floyd doesn't get too comfortable(but not unbeatable either, though the only fighters to beat him were at least his size or bigger)

People are really crazy if they say Pac is cherrypicking in this fight. Clottey is as tough as they come. And wow, did someone just said Clottey is overated?

Mayweather beat Corrales at 130, in 2001, when Corrales was undefeated and on the p4p list. Clottey beat Corrales in 2007, after he had accrued 4 losses, been to war twice with Castillo, and the fight was at a catchweight of 149 pounds, 15 pounds higher the weight in Corrales' previous fight. These are hardly comparable situations.

Judah has never been a great feather in Mayweather's cap. It's his best win at 147, but his resume at 147 is very weak, and the only reason that fight was made is because Judah held the lineal title at the time. It's not even in Mayweather's 5 best wins, though. It IS Clottey's best win, however.

You are right but like it or not, quite many point to Corrales and Judah as among the best fights of Floyd.

 

Corrales is one of Floyd's best wins. It just isn't that impressive for Clottey to beat him 6 years, 4 losses, two wars, and twenty pounds later.

No, I don't think so. But I was ready to totally do away with Pac for even mentioning guys like Malinaggi and Foreman. But by the same token, I'm not getting excited about this fight because Clottey only does enough to lose close fights and he doesn't grab the bull by the horns when the situation calls for it. To sum it up, he's a Ghanian Rocky Juarez in a lot of aspects with quicker hands and longer reach. :hey

The only chance I give Clottey is if he can make it a replay of the Agapito Sanchez fight with his head butts. We know how flustered Pac can get when he's cut.
