Pacquiao Cotto generated 1.15 million PPV and Pacquiao gets 25 million + PPV's.

GSP the second highest paid athlete under the UFC roster (after lesnar) makes around 1 - 1.5 million/year in straight salary.

anyone else think that's pretty pathetic

the PPV # for UFC 129 is around 800K - 1 million and with that insane 55K gate, gsp gets just 400k, also mark hominick would have gotten just $6000 if it wasn't for the FOTN bonus, 6k for fighting in a title fight is downright disgraceful

the fact is Dana and the Fertitas are taking 90% of the profits. Most corrupt organization of all time

    Pathetic?

    No.

What is pathetic is how much the non-stars are getting paid in the UFC (the supposed "Superbowl" of MMA).

The top stars from UFC must get some share of the PPV proceeds, otherwise it just wouldn't be fair. Unfortunately, I have yet to see figures on how much the UFC fighters make on top of their guaranteed salary other than performance-based bonuses.

I wouldn't worry too much about Rogan and Goldberg's analogy's. Neither of them get it.

As for some of the guys on the prelims they might get as low as $3000 - $4000. Low quality journeymen in boxing don't even roll out of bed for that.

I think that Courture made about 1 million to fight Tim Silvia and Gabe Gonzaga. That includes the ppv bonuses.

It's all about branding really. Pac's a 'brand' in his own right and is reaping the benefits. GSP is a part for the UFC brand

Even if GSP and Diaz, which would be a very high profile fight in MMA, were to split and promote the fight in the boxing model, I doubt, well I know they wouldnt make half of the money Pac is making between them

One of the benefits of MMA having a younger audience is that they buy their tapout shirts, UFC brand gloves and Brock Lesnar DVD's, but are also more savy at ''avoiding'' paying for a PPV than aybe your 40+ year old boxing fan

It's more of an 'event' in terms how it's promoted compared to a boxing, but they UFC's slight weakness as a brand is that when you put on a shitty card or boring fight such as GSP & Shield, that reflects bad on the brand as a whole not just the fighter. If a casual tuned in to see what the fuss was about, then GSP's performance would more than likely have them saying 'The UFC is boring' rather than 'GSP is boring'

On the other hand Pac has earned his PPV status by putting on a list of exciting fights consistantly, and has earned the right to have a relative snooze fest with Judah as it didnt really effect brand Pac. So in short Pac's fewer fights, lets for argueents sake say 1 every 10 months, make it a whole lot easier for him to justify paying $50 to watch and the UFC is finding it very difficult to keep the momentum going with putting shows on so often to find fights that are as exciting as the average Manny bout to justify paying $50 a pop

    My opinion anyway
