    no problems at all.
i'm leaning toward a september fight for this.
if pac is indeed injured then march is too soon. i don't care if roach demanded it. we all know fred talks out of his ass most times. as a pac fan, i'll definitely used this as a built-in excuse if he gets his ass whipped.
may is also no good because 99.9% of the work is getting elected, so he definitely can't train properly until after the elections.
patience everyone. if anyone here just went 12 rounds with cotto, i don't think you'd even consider looking at boxing gloves for a while.

So, again, I re-iterate, why does he want to run for office if he has no intention of doing anything? Everyone gives him a pass because he's embarking on this noble endeavor to help his countrymen, but if he's just going to a shiftless, lazy, puppet then why bother? And why give him a pass?

It's his life, he can do whatever the hell he wishes, he's the one that got where he is.

What's wrong with deciding to help his people by being in charge?

someone pointed out that he may owe favours to other politicians, so him running for office would allow them to become running mates have some other association that boost their profile. a lot of people criticise america as having personality politics. if that's the case then the philippines is really really personality politics. a lot of politicians marry film stars to boost their election chances (in addition to the booty).
it's also possible that manny really thinks he can make a difference. i mean, he's not the most educated guy around so he may think his star power can turn the country around.
it's also possible, that he has become about the money and politics in the philippines as a way to do that. (remember marcos, anyone)?
who knows what his reasons are, but getting elected shouldn't jeopardise a floyd fight for later next year.

I don't mind him delaying the date to allow himself time to recuperate (i.e. fight in May not March). That's OK. After all, we don't want any excuses from either fighter AFTER the fight. But to just have this in complete limbo... is uncool. Specially considering the nature of them calling out Money in the first place.

It's great to know how politics work in the Philippines and they aren't that time consuming but that's not the point...

The time for that fight is now..not later !!!!

You never know what can happen in the future, just let your imagination run wild, so many things are possible or can happen...

It's like if you have the hottest punani ever wanting to marry you and you say you're not ready for it as she wants it...well chances are when you're ready...she just might not be available anymore for whatever reason...such is life...

The boat goes by now...the choice needs to be made now..that's it that's all !!

i disagree with this right here right now argument, regardless of what roach said. the man says a lot things.
if he really has a busted eardrum, then he should be given all the time to heal. on these forums i've seen 3 months to 6 months proposed. that pretty much rules out march, or even may. who cares what roach said. if he fights march with a busted eardrum affecting his training and the fight itself and he gets his ass whipped, even the biggest floyd dick-suckers will have to grudgingly put an asterisk on the win.
even if the injury isn't that bad, the man just fought and took some punishment from a dangerous welterweight. most other fighters would opt for a soft tune-up and noone would raise an eyebrow.

Why are you bringing Roach into the discussion..it has nothing to do with Roach...

He has enough time to heal his eardrum before starting to train :deal That's not a valid excuse..I'm sorry !!!

Pacquiao has said many times he wants to end his career soon. All I'm saying is that this is a one of a kind lifetime fight, once every 30 years possibly...

When it's there, you grab it ! It's ok if Manny doesn't want it but there's no excuses for saying NO..that's all !!

Back in the days, fighters use to fight more often then 4 months apart...

Manny is a legend and this fight won't make him one, there's no denying that.

It's high risk but HUGE REWARD !!

I honestly think Pac thinks he can have his cake and eat it too. He knows he's on the top right now and he probably thinks that the boxing world will wait for him. He's just that kind of guy who has immense belief in what he does.

But he may be wrong, it's possible that the boat won't wait for him and if it doesn't, it'll be a sad thing for boxing fans and I honestly won't be all too bothered if people accuse him of ducking. Pac on the other hand, probably won't care all that much, as long as he thinks he's helping out in the Philippines.

i only brought in roach because i said i wouldn't mind pac-floyd late next year and anticipated someone pointing out roach saying be wanted a march fight.

and as far as having enough time for his eardrum to heal, do you know exactly what injury he has and where is the medical expert who says he has enough time? and don't just quote arum or roach, i want a source backed up by a medic.

Pacman doesnt owe boxing fans anything.

The man decided to put his political career on hold back in 2006 from high pressure from his fans to continue on his boxing career. Pacman heard our cries and went on to fight the JMM rematch like we wanted, and even went as far to surpass it exceeding our expectations by easily defeating Hatton, DLH and Cotto. The man wants a political career and has earned it, just who are we to demand that Pac put his political career on hold for another 4 years.

To hell what these people say that Pac has to fight Floyd. Pac has done a lot for the sport and these spoiled vultures are demanding more.

Atleast the only good thing to come out of all this is that the Joy Boys are finally realizing that all roads do not lead towards Mayweather, they clearly see now that Mayweather is on a road towards Pacquiao.
