The bottom line is Pac keeps on winning. Beating fighters bigger than him. He's really one of kind. He's proven many boxing pundits wrong time and time again.

an excuse is an excuse. You can't pick and choose which ones are OK and which ones aren't.

If you say Morales was past his best when he was knocked out in 3 rounds, you can't just brush aside the fact that Pac was still super bantamweight when Morales moved up to 130. You can't say "it doesn't matter that Pac was moving up to featherweight when he lost a close decision to Morales" and "it doesn't matter that a gash above his eye caused by a headbutt was impairing his vision"

Not Pac's fault if Floyd retired. Having beaten fighters convincingly than floyd did while Floyd avoided elite fighters in his division, it's inevitable that Pac will clinch the #1 P4P.

Judging by your criteria i guess mayweather beat marquez much more convincingly than pac ever did?

Oh wait you gonna say Pac fought Marquez at his proper weightclass.

If that's the case then floyd fought oscar at his proper weightclass.

Floyd also beat ricky hatton when he was undefeated, you know what beating an undefeated boxer does to that boxers mindset? Just look at Lacy and Cotto and you will have your answer.

    you didn't get it.

floyd would have taken two more top notch opponents that time but decided to retire instead. his "bull****" retirement took a toll on the depth of his resume and further raised questions on the solidness of his legacy and where he might be at in terms of greatness.

so in hindsight, floyd shouldn't have retired and instead fought the two top notch opponents that according to you he should have faced. that way, he would have been able to solidly cement his legacy with conviction and build a great resume that would seal his place up there with the elite atgs. floyd was the numero uno guy back then and there was a huge clamor for him to showcase further his greatness. he failed to capitalize on it.

he let his guard down and allowed pac to set unprecedented records, build an ultra deep resume and etch a far greater legacy. Funny how these dramatically unfolded within the 2 years that floyd have wasted on his "bull****" retirement.

this reminded me of a book i have once read, "And The Other Guy Blinked"...;)

I see the excuses for a Pacquiao loss are getting in already.

I don't think there is much between either of them btw, Mayweather's resume is always played down where as Pacquiao's is overhyped, if Mayweather does beat Pacquiao then without doubt he will move ahead of him for me.

    dude,

you failed to realize that the version that pbf beat is the version of jmm which NEVER fought over 135lbs. DID YOU REALIZED THAT JMM JUMPED TWO WEIGHT CLASSES in order to fight PBF and PBF fought two lbs over the agreed weight?! Did pbf tried to shed those 2 lbs. Hell no!

It's like a boxing fan being proud of beating pac at 160lbs:rofl:lol:

Hatton ALSO NEVER fought over 140lbs. 147 is the turf of pbf and this the wieght they fought!

To straighten the facts Hatton was undefeated at 140 BUT he NEVER fought at 147. His turf is at 140lbs. Guess where PAC beat Hatton??!! On his very own turf and comfort zone at 140lbs!

Pac beat Hatton in 2 rounds, PBF needed 8 or 9 rounds and needed the ring post to beat Hatton. Now in all honesty which do you think is more impressive?!:rasta:hi::hi:

Its an analysis. I'm not gonna make a pick blindly, I recognize what each fighter's advantages and disadvantages are and I have to take that into consideration. I think its pretty much a 50/50 fight at 147, maybe even edge to Floyd, and even then I feel like I'm reaching.

Pound for pound, Pac is a superior fighter. But its hard to see how Pac will impose this style against someone with the defense of Floyd who can be always on the backfoot and to top it off who is heavier and stronger than him. If he can do it, then he's an obvious lock for top10 ATG. A top20 ATG would probably not be able to do it even to a top40.

Pacquiao's resume is always played down and Mayweather's is overhyped.

    1. Go easy on the emotions.

    2. Hatton won a bull**** WBA title at 147 against callazo. So what are you talking about?
