A choice between the straight left or the uppercut? The straight left will 100% connect. A lot of fighters have studied that left straight and how to get away from it and yet they all got caught with it. Their problem is . . . they don't know when it is coming.
JMM adjusted pretty well to that straight left throughout the fight so I would go with JMM counter shots and his uppercut.
Pac always finds a way for that left to land, except for the majority rounds of the 1st JMM fight. If you want to use a signature punch for JMM, the counter-right is more defining than his uppercut, imo.
While Pacs left might land first. It will be just that a left hand. However JMM will land combinations. that man can throw some nice combinations!!! Some of the nicest i have ever seen. I just watched the Jandaeng fight again. WoW!!!! those are the best combinations thrown right there. The variety of the punches he threw were amazing and so fast. If he can do that against Pac its over for Pac.I admire both fighters but a well trained JMM that can throw combinations with accuracy and speed like that is exactly the style that would beat Pac.
Both will connect a fair amount in my opinion. I like Marquez to have success with his counterpunching, uppercut, and right hands. I think he outboxes Manny and wins a decision.
that left straight will surely connect. opponents already know that it's coming but still are unable to avoid it. it's probably the speed and heaviness of the punch that makes it slip in between an opponent's guard. pac also has that chopping right hook counter on the back foot. jmm seems to be very susceptible to this punch from lefties judging by the jandaeng and jaca fights. generally, jmm seems to have some problems when facing southpaws.
Both will connect, pac's approach and jmm's countering. Well it truly depends on each strategies.:think
