I would rank Pac above SRL and Duran. Up there with the top 10 all time greats.

PAC beating PBF is not surprising

PAC in order to fight PALVIC need to go up 2 more levels! PAC made a world record by getting the 7th weight divison. You want him to go up 2 weight division?!

    DO YOU UNDERSTAND BOXING?!?

This makes Pacquiao the greatest fighter of all time? Beating a shot weight-drained ODLH, a shot Morales (who came off a loss against Zahir Raheem), and wins over Marquez, Hatton, Cotto, and an overrated Marco Antonio Barrera? What a joke.

Well if you consider all past p4p kings of the past and Manny...it can be argued that he is.

Most ATG P4Pers are placed as high as they are because of their finished careers...but that's typically AFTER they've been dethroned.

Manny's streak as P4P the best is arguably THE BEST. In a much grander scale he doesnt match up to SRR or Ezzard...but as a p4p king...you can lobby a case for him.

I mean when Floyd was on top what was his best wins WHILE on top?
    Mosley's?
    RJJ's?

    Get my point?

we can hate all we want but the truth is, pac is throwback to the 80's where fighters fight the best competition.

in the last decade or so, i think we have 3 boxers who I think who can truly claim the p4p spot matched by achievements.

    pac, pbf and rjj.

the thing with rjj is that he seemed to have suffered to many losses to be even considered.

pbf, he has had decent wins but a quick look at his resume actually shows it bereft of true atg except perhaps dlh.

I wont knock Pac for his achievements and he was great the other night, but you could argue his last 2 opponents had previously suffered career changing defeats.

Cotto and Hatton were hardly the same fighters pre Margarito and Mayweather.

If he goes on to whoop Mayweather then I will start shouting it from the rooftops.

The problem with being compared to the legendary fighters of yore is that the resume of today's modern fighter can be easily dissected and dismissed whereas we don't really have any idea of the comparative quality of the legends' opponents at the time they faced them.

Case in point: Some point to Cotto's beatdown by Margarito as a reason for downplaying Pacquiao's victory over him, which they can do just because they have access to Cotto's fight history. But we don't know whether Opponent A of Legend A was also in a similar funk when they faced each other. All we know is that Legend A has a scintillating victory over Opponent A, which contributed to his legendary resume.

:lol:That's not a very convincing argument. I could name at least 40 fighters with a higher quantity of better names on their resume.

I am a big PAC fan but this is a little too much. Maybe in the last 20 yrs or our current era but not in history.

but you have to take into account his performances, where he came from and what he has done in the last year alone. man deserves to be top 20. imagine a skinny 19 year old winning the lineal flyweight title and know dominating welters in a fashion. 10 divisions apart. that is remarkable to keep that consistency.

Exactly, art. People underrate modern boxers specially historians because they've seen fighters in their era. They've put them on pedestals. Do you honestly think any modern day fighter will be considered GOAT? I don't so because they can't prove it, it's all subjective opinion. Two or three years ago no one gave Pacquiao a shot at guys like Hatton, DLH, or Cotto, much less stop them.

It'll be awhile before there would be another former flyweight champ that will come along and do what Pacquiao is doing now. He's not just beating them but he dominates them.
