Before I speak of it, some guys at ESB needs evidence.

    Try this linK:

Now that GBP and Top Rank had agreed on things, we'll probably see Pac-JMM soon.

But before that, MAB is the way to go.

Judging by his last fight, I think MAB still has it, and if Pac turns up rusty as hell and improperly conditioned, we might be headed for an upset. As MAB kept saying he wants this to be his last fight, it's a sure bet he'll get himself in great shape.

But IMO, regardless of MAB's condition by fight time, I think a 100% Pac still gets the best of him. Pac has an advantage on power, speed, stamina and youth.(MAB has tons of wars before him). Only experience belonged to MAB, and as we found out, it wasn't enough anymore.

    Pac in 6 rounds.

MAB is probably the best tune-up for PAC before facing JMM. :D

Isn't it too harsh to refer MAB as a tune-up.

I for one wouldn't exactly call him like that.

I'm disappointed with this fight, Manny dominated Barrera 4 years ago, Barrera hasn't exactly looked spectacular in his last three fights, he's getting old. So logic tells me that Manny will win again, and probably even more convincingly...

Why not fight JMM? After all he beat MAB in his last fight, it just doesn't make sense to me...

Maybe that's where ENZO has a point. Pac's been away from the gym for so long, he might be rusty as hell, MAB can be a logical choice to gauge where Pac's conditioning is and to shake off the rust.

But it does make sense for Pac and for MAB for a few good reasons.

One, MAB has always said he wanted to rematch Pac to avenge that humiliating loss inflicted on him, and he gave hints that he was not really prepared for that initial fight: the fire near his gym, the metal plate in his head, etc. This fight would give him a chance to actually prove these.

And wasn't he supposed to fight Pac last January, but never materialized because of the contract dispute? In fact, he was the first in line versus Pac right after Pac won over Erik Morales.

For Pacman, this is a chance to prove once and for all, (as if we didn't see the first fight) that his win over MAB was not a fluke.

Secondly. this is a money-fight. For both of them. No need to elaborate on this. In fact, I believe this could be a career payday for both of them. MAB could not do it with EM in their three memorable battles; and he certainly didn't earn it against JMM. For Pac, this is his best chance to have that career payday. He won't get it versus JMM, Guzman, Soto, Valero or anyone in the division not named Marco.

Yes, we know and expect that Pac will trounce MAB, but atleast we can be happy that this fight signals the never-ending possibility of him fighting almost anyone in the 130 division since GBP and TR has seemningly already fixed the issue over Pac's promotional right.

Please notice I said "it doesn't make sense to ME"... Obviously it makes sense for Pac since he's getting payed the most without fighting the biggest threat. And Barrera can get a big payday before he retires, which is all great for them.

But I would rather see Manny in a fight where we all don't know the outcome, JMM, Joan Guzman, Valero etc. but that's just me...

MAB is still a threat, many people thought the JMM fight could have gone his way. If Pac treats MAB as if he is already finished, he could be in trouble.

    No problem with that.:thumbsup

Don't worry, those fights you have just mentioned can now actually happen in the next 2 years, now that there is already an agreement between the two promoters.

Barreras still a great fighter he proved that vs Marquez in a fight where I dont think even the losers stock dropped. Dont ever doubt Marco Antonio Barrera everyone doubted him when Junior Jones beat him down then got the decision in the 2nd fight soon after Barrera was beating Johnny Tapia,Nassem Hamed,Erik Morales. November 03 Pac demolishes Barrera that means it over right ? Wrong Barrera stopped Paulie Ayala, beats Morales agian and owns a pair of victories of a solid Rocky Juarez.

Good tuneup for JMM. GBP wants MAB-Pac before Pac-JMM because MAB is gonna retire unless he gets the fight. Pac-JMM2 is definetly set to happen though. Hope Arum doesnt ruin it with his plans to put Soto in there prolonging JMM-Pac once again. After Pac beats JMM, he can fight whomever he wants cos I believe his legacy would be sealed.

    Well said ..

Barrara has the tools to beat Manny but if he lost to him again there would be no shame in it considering Manny is a hall of famer himself ..

Barrera can do if it he focuses on a Pacquiao weakness such as his balance.
