Floyd is definately a natural welter, or else he wouldn't have skipped on the JMM catchweight. Also, his last fight at JrWW goes back over 4 years. Pac fought at JrWW in May 2009

Pac vs Floyd will probably not even have a WW title on the line. So that point doesn't mean anything in this case.

Anyways if Floyd is not a natural WW then whats the problem with Pac vs Floyd happening at a lower weight? So that they can both be at their natural weights.

Think about it. You guys say neither Pac nor Floyd are natural WW's but still say that the fight has to happen at WW. That doesn't make any sense.

If both are not natural WWs then the fight should happen at a lower, more natural weight.

I'm sorry for those who are getting really emotional about this Thread(poor lil babies) but pac if far from that catch weight king. B-hop has done it(he's old as hell so I give him a pass40yrs old)Mayweather done wrong using the catchweight crap because U guys all know Marques was way to small and Mayweather didn't even make the catchweight but cheated instead. Its not just Pac but all of boxing.

im talking right after the hatton fight. when a bidding war persued with cottos camp sayign theyll go as low as 145 and then shane mosely countered with a 140-143 bid. then arum said if cotto signs on and dosent leave top rank he'll try to make the fight happen. its at the negotiations that pac camp asked for 143 but cottos camp stayed firm at 145 was kinda agreed on by both fighters. then contract changed to add the belt which i think was bull**** becuase pac himself said he didnt want the belt.

Why? The title belts are meaningless and that's the only reason we have weight classes to begin with. It has nothing to do with separating fighters into specific weights, not with how often fighters jump around from one weight class to another nowadays. What's the point of having super middleweight or junior middleweight if a middleweight can go to one or the other with relative ease in training?

Come to think about it, weight classes were essentially made meaningless when Pacquiao went up five weight classes to fight de la Hoya and won. If you want weight classes to become meaningful again, you need to drop the number of classes down by at least half.

Seriously? The Cotto fight is the first time that they fought at a catchweight.

Cotto wasn't damage by the 145 catch weight! Cotto still looked big and strong during the fight and the weight in.

Yeah so by even your cut and pasted definition WW means 140-147, not 140 -144.3 or whateve. so what is your point? If u want titles just pick a weight class and get them (they're already too narrow as it is no need to dice them up further to 4 or 5 lb increments). if u want to make a fight at a catchweight for the money go ahead

Someone stated that every fighter has fought at a catchweight, that is not true. Roy Jones, Duran, Holyfield, Michael Spinks, James Toney, Alexis Aguello and many others never fought at a catch weight. I also have a question with no disrespect to Pac, however, why would they choose to fight a fighter who was beat in to submission by Margerito, eyes gashed opened by Clottey and then make him drop two pounds for a created belt. If you want to be considered great, beat the best at their best he should have fought Mosely.

Catch Weight, making fighters come down in weight...

We all know what the topic is about..

If Pacman is so good, why was he trying to make Shane Mosley come down to 142..?

What was the ****ing point in 145 against Miguel Cotto..?

Pacman has ****ed with the wrong divsion, soon he's gonna find all of this out...

    All of it...

What was the ****ing point of making a lightweight go up to 144...and then coming in at 147 and saying "**** it, I"ll take the fine. Thank you." There's a fighter whose ****ed with a division by not fighting anyone in that division. :hi:
